Re: 2008 SR5 2WD Tundra 5.7 DC Std. Bed [ocautoseeker]
by mrvman on Mon Apr 28 16:21:34 PDT 2008
I just got off the phone with a Toyota dealer and I was told that the invoice on a Tundra limited, DBL cab, 4X4, std bed, 5.7LV8 is $35,947 on top of the invoice price is TDA=$700, $10 in gas, $771 holdback! for a total of $37,428 this is invoice? I asked if these charges were "packed" into the invoice and he said everyone except Toyota "packs them in", is this true? I guess shipping is "packed" into the invoice? This is the invoice price with no options. I thought the holdback was refunded to the dealer so why am I going to pay it? Are these charges normal? Thanks for the time, I would like to buy the truck until this came up. These information is from Phoenix AZ.

Question: Lifts on Tundra Crew & Warranty
by rjsuzuki on Sun Mar 09 16:03:14 PDT 2008
Question: Lifts on Tundra Crew & WarrantyI ordered a 08 Tundra Crewmax 4x4 this week. I am going to put a lift on it when it comes in through the delearship (they send it out). I went to 3 different Toyota delearships and asked about the lifts. One said that I can get a lift no more than 6"'s (which is what I want), the other two said no more than 3" (which is okay). Does anyone know the answer? Are there any articles? If you have a lifted Tundra, do you like the lift. Thank you, Rich from Phoenix, AZ.
2008 S Corolla
by aperson on Sat Jan 26 13:44:12 PST 2008
Purchased a 2008 S Corolla with manual transmission and SR (sunroof), VP (Keyless, cruise control, 1 touch pwr windows, color keyed spoiler, allow wheels), and CK (weather guard). MSRP was $18001. Paid 14900 for it plus tax (about 8%), VLT (about $400), and doc fees (about $200) = $16700 OTD. I actually always negotiate OTD price so that I don't end up with any surprises (so I'm not exactly sure on exact split). This was in Phoenix, AZ By the way, this was all done via email with the fleet/internet department. When I found the car that was desired, we just went over, drove it, completed all the paperwork, and took it home. It is alot easier now than it ever was to deal through emails and the phone. I always used Edmunds invoice as my goal. We just bought an FJ for my husband in a similar manner (even though they had to trade with another dealership out of state and add features at the port to get the one we wanted). Dealers used to make you come and haggle in person, but no more. I've bought 3 new Fords, 2 new Chevys, 1 new Honda, 3 new Toyotas plus helped 2 people buy new Toyotas in my lifetime (am getting good at this).
Best Deals So Far

I've had written confirmation of $1400 over invoice on a fully loaded 2008 HH Limited from two dealerships: Camelback Toyota (Phoenix, AZ) Carson City Toyota (Carson City, NV) Both dealership regularly deal with California sales (yes, local sales tax is paid on the transaction) and are matching each other in price and in effort to get me the car first. Good luck!
Re: Prius Tax Credit - now you see it...now you don't. [garv214]

Applause to them no doubt for buying an environmentally wise car. Sorry for them because they did not get the tax break? TTTTRRRYYYYYIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG, TTTTRRRYYYYYIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG, but I just can't get there. They got the many benefits of owning and driving a hybrid as their reward. I bought a used hybrid in 2004 and got no tax benefit; so I was one of those people who bought a hybrid with no tax benefit and no consideration thereof with my first hybrid, and then got the tax benefit from my second hybrid purchase, a new TCH in 2006. So I'm in both camps I suppose.
