Kia Westside for the Win!

by dandrepont on 04/15/2016

I bought a Kia today. I never in a million years thought I'd buy a Kia, but then I had a friend who really liked his. So I started reading the ratings, the customer satisfaction stats, Edmonds and consumer reports info, talking to our mechanic, etc., and all were so positive. I test drove a Soul, and it was great. I sat down with Antonio, our sales person, and prepared to debate numbers (I'd researched exactly what I should be paying), and the first number Antonio proposed, along with interest rate, was even lower than I'd hoped. I especially appreciated his no pressure approach and honesty. I expected to take the usual 3 hours to complete financing and sign papers; instead, thanks to Antonio, it was about 30 minutes. (It would've been 15, but I had a conversation about travel with the great finance guy!) If I were to read this I would think it was a fake review. I mean who ever really enjoys the whole car buying experience? But I assure you I'm just a regular mom of 3 kids who was smart enough to check out Westside Kia and lucky enough to work with Antonio. My thanks also to Benny in Finance, the manager who put together my deal, and all involved in making Westside Kia a great place to buy a car. I have to admit those hamsters are a little creepy to me, but everything else was stellar! Thanks Antonio!

Horrible Service

by PatriciaMJ on 11/11/2015

First, they didn’t have my car ready for delivery when promised. They gave me a loaner car with a bad tire that blew out on me after about 20 miles. They broke the antenna that they had previously fixed, and never ordered the part to fix it. They sent me home with a vehicle that did not pass the state inspection, and basically said oops. Then after 3 months and 1 oil change, my engine locks up due to sludge build up. Even though the warranty would not cover this because it is due to poor maintenance before I purchased the car, Westside Kia says that it is my responsibility because I did not purchase a warranty. They did not properly inspect my vehicle before selling it or delivering it. They also did not properly inspect the vehicle they gave me as a loaner. I am very disappointed that they refuse to stand up and take responsibility for their poor service department. The service manager actually stated that he cannot possibly be responsible for every vehicle that comes in.

I was treated very well by these guys

by doogie517 on 05/30/2013

I am not sure what these other people are whining about, but this dealership has always treated me well. in fact, when I traded in my 2 year old Kia Soul, I got an awesome trade in value. $4500 less than what i paid for it over 2 years earlier. hmmm

by badmove on 05/24/2013

If you go to this dealdership prepare to be oversold and watch out or they will include a $2,000.00 extending warranty in the sales and not even mention it.

Lots of Wasted time & Poor Manager Service

by youngrocky11 on 02/06/2012

I went into thd dealership knowing exactly which car I wanted & what features I wanted to add to it by searching the dealer's online inventory. I had called in the afternoon and was ensured they still had that vehicle. Upon arriving, I sat for over 30 minutes while the salesman & manager searched for the car, which come to find out was sold 2 days earlier. The salesperson took me for a test drive in another vehicle (which I didn't need, because I'd already done a test drive) & when we returned tried to sell me that vehicle...was a completely different color. The manager said he found another vehicle which was in South Houston that had the same features I wanted & went in the back to get a quote to add leather seats & black rims to the vehicle. When he returned he quoted me $5,000 over the MSRP for the leather & rims. I asked him where he was coming from on that number & he gave me a run-around. After we finally negotiated a price, he told me they would pick up the vehicle the next day & have it ready for me the following day. I signed papers with a specific VIN number for the car I was supossidly purchasing. Within a 4 day time period, I was told by the manager that the car was being delayed, because it was being picked up in Dallas. When I searched for the VIN number online, I found that vehicle did not have all the feature I wanted. When I questioned the manager, he ensured me it did...then he came back & said, well the mirror on the car doesn't have the homelink...I negotiated that for tinted windows instead. Finally on Friday (I ordered the car on Monday) I went to the dealership to pick it up (where I waited another hour before it was ready). I had to re-sign papers, because the VIN number was not the one that was given to me previously. Upon inspection of the car I found it did not have the interior lighting package. The manager tried to tell me he thought I had meant something else when I asked for that, then tried to tell me it was an aftermarket deal to get it, even though it was clearly listed as an option on Kia's website (a $350 option). The manager did say he would install it if I wanted to bring it in sometime, but I did not know if he meant at no charge, or not, and was frankly too tired at that moment to ask. Overall, the salesman was a nice guy, but the manager gave me a huge run-around. To top it off, I was told by each of them if I got a survey from the dealership to "please rate them a 10". I do not reccomend wasting your time at this dealership. I did do a test drive the week before at Parkway Kia & everyone was friendly, however they do not value trade-ins anywhere close to where they should.

Employees retaliate against customers

by 22801 on 12/06/2011

I have to be honest. If I had a good experience, I probably would not be writing a positive review. But that is not the feedback I have, and I did not even buy a car. The salesman James Innes was nice, but a complete waste of time. Typical car salesman. And I'm with everyone else, the positive reviews are staged. Nobody logs in and posts reviews about how much of a great experience they had buying a car. " I was somewhat taken aback..."? Give me a break. I asked for a lease quote upfront, and of course I get the run-around for 45 minutes. He got up and talked to his little crew, as they always do. Their games are so predictable. I told him when I sat down I had 45 minutes and I was walking out. He also did the strangest thing. On my quote sheet, he handwrites the phrase" I will drive home with a new car happy today", or something to that effect, and then asked me to initial that phrase????? What in the world does that mean??? He said it doesn’t mean anything, they just like to see it. Seemed like 2nd grade. To top it all off, after 45 minutes, he comes back with a quote, FOR A PURCHASE, NOT A LEASE, like I asked for multiple times. It's like he didn't listen at all to what I said. I know he heard me because he acknowledged it each time. Insane. I then got up and told him to give me a call when he had a quote for a lease. Then the next day, some telephone survey lady called, asking how my experience was, and I told her. She apologized and said she would call me back with a quote, which of course, she did not. Unbelievable. Actually it is believable. I just don't understand. You would think that someone would run a dealership legitimately, and everyone would come to them because all other dealerships are so bad. They would make a killing. Just when I thought my experience couldn't get any worse, Westside Kia proved me wrong. I don't know why I am taking the time to write this review. After posting my initial review here, the salesman, James Innes decides to send me a text message, A TEXT MESSAGE, to MY PHONE. Here it is verbatim: "Hey nice Google review you were so nice to write about me and wsk. The only part you failed to mention is that you’ve NEVER even financed a car before, and the REAL reason we showed you a purchase and not not lease is neither I nor anyone behind the desk believed you would EVER be approved. (get back to making your big 40k a year a scot trade lol being a "wanna be stock broker" where all brokers dream of one, day working! (and ill get back to being the "typical car salesman")" I still cannot believe an employee would do that. Breach of privacy I believe. The GM told me that he would be disciplined, but I somehow doubt that. I am sure they are all sitting back laughing at it. Pitiful. I hope many people read this.

Not forthcoming

by texassteve1 on 04/02/2011

I tried to make this my dealer, since it is rather close to my house. I told him what I wanted, that I wanted to negotiate a fair price. Rather than just discuss the price, he wasted my time trying to resell me the car before telling me he would not sell it to me without a dealer premium in the guise of a "Polysteel sealer coat" supposedly already applied to the car, and charging me $1799 for this glorified wax job. I have no idea whether the car actually had such a treatment applied; in any event it could not have been worth $1800, on top of sticker. They also tried to sell me a luggage mat AND a luggage tray, which are both wall to wall trunk floor coverings. Why would anyone want both? But they put both in it and made it look like it was factory equipped with these dealer accessories. I was honest with them, they engaged in laughably transparent hard sells and unwanted/unneeded extras.

Westside Kia is the best.....

by jeffmussel on 12/02/2010

This is by far the best Kia dealer in the Houston area. We looked for a certain model and our sales person was going to have a vehicle shipped from Georgia just to get us one. They have gone out of there way to make us happy and gave us a GREAT deal to boot.
