Deceptive business practices

If I could give this joke of a dealership 0 stars I would- I live out of state (6 hours away) and I began dealing with a salesperson by the name of Tray Allen on Tuesday via web and phone. I have all of the text messages exchanged between Tray and myself. I had a trade in vehicle and Tray stated that I was good to go for the vehicle I wanted- financing approved and my husband on the loan with me. We put down a down payment on Thursday via phone and made Tray aware that since we live out of state 6 hours away we would be in on Saturday (one of two days off both me and my husband get from work.) Oh and I was encouraged to “just call into work” so I could come pick up the new vehicle on Thursday or Friday instead of waiting until the weekend. We get to the dealership today after leaving home early this morning only to find out Tray had blatantly lied to me- flat out lied and lied by omission. I was informed the dealership would not take my trade, and I was not even on the loan. After all afternoon sitting at this joke of a dealership and one of the sales managers “mentioning” that maybe i should just let my trade in get repossessed so I would not have two car notes (with the new car I did not get) , we left, due to them not wanting to make anything right. Oh and the scammed us out of the down payment- said it would be maybe 2 days or so before we see it refunded back and kept putting it off when I asked numerous times for a receipt showing it was refunded- we never got a receipt before we finally left. We couldn’t have left any earlier because they took my vehicle key from me and somehow “disappeared” for 3 hours. I attempted to ask to speak to Mr. Clay Cooley himself about this complete and utter ridiculousness that happened today, and I was denied. Maybe someone who sees this can get me in contact with him. Regardless I will get in contact with him, or a lawyer will, for blatant deceptive business practices and stealing a large sum of money as a “down payment” after lying to me. Oh and I have cancer (diagnosed 2 months ago) and [non-permissible content removed] took a whole day away from me spending time with my family due to their blatant lies and deception.

Clay Cooley Chevrolet in Irving TX has the best service!! For the past two oil changes, I have dropped my truck off to them and they complete the service along with a free wash and vacuum in less than two hours. I love that I always get the same service tech which is Mat. He's so friendly and very helpful and keeps me updated on any needs for my truck. You will not be disappointed with Clay Cooley's service!!

Hung up on by Tony

Called the morning of 3-21-2019 on a 2018 Chevy Silverado I saw on The KBB site the night before. This vehicle had been a loaner and was priced at $29,805. When I called the operator transferred me to Tony. I gave him the stock number and he verified the MSRP but when I told him the cost of the vehicle he stated that a third party vendor does these sites for them and entered the rebates twice and the price was wrong. Funny how a few more dealerships had the same type of vehicles which was loaners going for the same rate. Informed Tony that I was shopping for Silverados and needed his best price. He told me to give him a price and I said no, what is your best price? He became very aggravated and aggressive towards me and hung up. Yes, he hung up on me. At no time was I rude or unprofessional. Later that day I called back again and it was still a cluster. Talked to a guy named Dennis who came across extremely desperate and acted like he had never sold a car. I asked for another pre owned person and this offended him. Finally got ahold of a guy named Jay and he hung up on me twice by accident but called me back both times. In the middle of all this Tony got wind of this and called me. I record the conversation between Tony and I and he stated that he hung up on me that morning and nothing else needed to be said. Seriously? Finally got ahold of the GM named Ali and explained what happen. Even sent him the recorded conversation between Tony and Myself. That was around 4 today. It’s now 9:30 at night and nothing. I did get ahold of Clay Cooley’s personal secretary and she assured me the Clay, Chase and Ali are working on this. I also filed a complaint with GM corporate and the chamber in Irving Texas. Will follow up with the Atteiney Generals office in the morning. Being a loyal GM owner for 25 years and dealing with dealerships for about the same time I have never dealt with such a group of unprofessional people in my life. These guys already have a bad image in the industry but always liked Clays commercials and a personal friend picked up a SUV from them last year and said what a great group of people. I truly feel being in a unique situation with excellent credit and putting down a large amount of money hurt me more than it helped in this situation. That the target market for them are people with ok credit so they may finance them with lenders who will give them kick backs in the loan process and make more money at the end of the day. I truly hope you turn this situation around fast and coach and train this group at the Chevrolet dealership in Irving so no other’s customers have to experience this again.

False Advertisement

The reason for this rating is due to the car dealership posting false information regarding the vehicle that was for sale. The advertisement stated it had a navigation system and on star services. Whenever I purchased the vehicle, I turned on the radio and neither the OnStar works nor the Navigation. That day I proceeded to take the vehicle to our local Chevrolet dealership of which the tech informed me that the navigation antennae would have to be replaced and wasn't to sure that the navigation itself would work so it could be a costly repair. From that point the dealership has failed to return my calls or even show any signs of empathy regarding this issue which is their fault since they falsely advertised an expensive part of the vehicle. Communication isn't up to par and ultimately they only care about selling the vehicle and nothing else. I would definitely recommend that you find other deals elsewhere they will start off friendly and then shut the doors after they sell you the vehicle and find out it has issues!

Do not buy from this dealership!!

Most miserable buying experience in my 38 adult years. I should not have driven this used 2013 truck off the lot. I had one strict requirement when I found my vehicle online, before I drove to even think about purchasing the truck. I asked the salesman what the axle ratio was. My wife has horses and wanted a truck with more HP and torque than our current, so she could purchase a larger horse trailer. He had a choice of three ratios and gave me the one that provided the most torque and towing capacity. I was fine with the top tow, but not the lowest. I made that clear to the salesman. Two weeks after purchasing the truck, almost ready to close on a larger horse trailer for my wife, the trailer dealer informed me (after seeing the truck I drove to his dealership with to close the deal and pick up the trailer) my truck would not tow the (loaded) trailer. He proved it to me on paper and online, after looking up my truck VIN and decoding an axle code on my truck. It was the lowest axle ratio, giving me the exact same towing capacity as my old truck. The deal was not completed, of course. I phoned the salesperson. He admitted the mistake more than once and apologized, promising to "take care of me". In the following 3.5 weeks+, the I made 4 phone calls to the dealership, leaving a voicemail each time; 1 wasn't returned, 1 was returned 2 days later, 1 was returned 4 days later and the last...he said he was going out to the lot and would call me within 15 mins...was never returned, even after waiting over 2 weeks. But within only a couple days of that no call return, I realized this salesperson and dealership was not what they promise in the commercials and in person...at all, so I talked my wife into giving up her dream to purchase the larger trailer. In those conversations the salesperson and I did have, I told him my budget (what I purchased the truck for), but he only offered "deals" on a truck for $10k and more to "take care of me". I had purchased the $995 gap insurance, but he told me that was non-refundable and non-transferable. I suggested he just sent me $500 to "take care of me" and we'd call it even, but I was told there can be no refunds of any kind. I received that decision 11 days after I suggested it. Additionally, the finance person was very adamant to sell me an extended warranty. He had about 3 discounted versions of the first offer that was for one year. He told me that must estimate the purchase of the truck as Jan 1, 2013, making the warranty expired after 3 years, l since it was not August. After I purchased the truck, I found the previous owner's financial paperwork in the glove box. It was purchased new in April 2014, leaving 8 months on the manufacture's warranty. He tried to sell me a 1 year warranty on a truck with 8 months left on the manufacturer's warranty. It doesn't stop there. I had personalized license plates on my current truck. I informed the salesman and the finance person closing the deal with me the registration paperwork must be sent the County seat registration office. I had already phoned them and they said they would transfer my personalized plates themselves, if the dealership sends them the paperwork. I sent an email to the dealership's finance person, with a picture of the plate as requested, with the instructions reiterated a third time. It wasn't done. When I received a call from the dealership registration/title office, they had not done what I asked. When I explained the issue, she gave me a number to call her if I wanted an update on whether or not she would be able to make the transfer. That's right. She told me I needed to call if I wanted an update. No customer service in that department! I did call in the next 10-11 days, twice, and was told there were able to make the transfer and my new registration would be here soon. To recap, I was given incorrect information on my truck which was admitted as incorrect by the salesman, the salesman had nothing but empty promises to "Take care of me" and return my calls (he either did so days and days later or not at all, they tried to sell me a 1 year warranty on a used truck with 8 months left on the manufacturer's warranty and the registration/title office at the dealership needs customer service training. When you screw up and it's admitted, the dealership should be the one calling the customer with updates, not telling the customer to call them. My wife did not get the trailer I promised her and that upsets me very much, all due to a dealership that just wanted to close the deal and hope I would go away, even with the dealership admitted mistakes and lack of customer service. I waited 9 weeks to write this review, along with more of this negative review on at least two other websites, giving them a change to "make it right". Even after giving the dealership a bad review on their website and contacting the general manager, I have received no phone calls of apologies. None. This is a dealership you need to avoid.

Approved for a NEW car

My husband and I went in with $500 praying they would finance us for anything used since we had bad credit and we walked out with a 2016 Malibu. They didn't make us feel like scum and we didn't have to give 20 references !! Great experience!

I went in because the used car I bought from them two years ago transmission went out and wanted to trade it in for another car. Little did I know they was able to put me in a brand new car. Talking about what a blessing. I was thinking I was going to get a used one. But thanks to the grace of God and Daniela, I left the same day in a new 2016 car

Awesome Service

I had purchased my 2014 - 2500 Silverado HD Crew Cab Diesel from my long time Chev dealer ship in Georgetown, Tx. After about 6 months I started having issue with a vibration in the front end of the truck. They told me that the tires were out of round, and replaced the tires. After driving my truck a few miles the vibration kept coming back, they would check out the truck and again stated that the tires were out of round and replaced them. This kept repeating over and over for about 6 months. Then I started getting a hard thumbing noise and vibration in the fount end. I road with service manager; again they said it the tires were out of round. This process repeated 4 more times, the last time I picked up my truck it was not fixed even though the promise me it was. I was in the process of relocating to Mesquite Tx, and few month before my Fiancé had purchased a 2014 – 1500 Silverado from Clay Cooley. I took my 2014 - 2500 Silverado HD Crew Cab Diesel, to Clay Cooley, and my now husband explained the issues that I was having to are service rep Johnny Gamez. Johnny took a test drive with us and right off the bat knew something was wrong and didn’t think it was the tires. 24 Hrs later Johnny called and said they had found the issue which was Steering Shaft was Lockup, and would not move. Johnny told us that the Steering Shaft could have snapped and I would of lost control of the truck. I am so grateful for Johnny’s knowledge and the quick response we received from Clay Cooley service department.

Nightmare ripping off

Stay away , this dealship is nightmare!!!! Its ripping off , they lied to me and played with Price before closing. Do not walk in this Car Dealer you will be regreted, they are very pushy, overpriced and make you stick with high interest rate, my credit score was very high 720 and they gave me 9.9% Interest rate APR ! Also they damaged my credit score by pulling 3 hard inquiries in one day ! Which I only gave them petmission for 1 hard inquiry, those hard inquires damaged my credit scores and stayed at report for 2 years, my fico score dropped down dramatically due to 2 unauthorized hard inquiries.If you plan to purchase a house in future never ever go here becasue they will damage gour credit score! I beleive I have been discriminated based on race by giving me the highest interest rate !!! They rip me off badly and Im so regret I bought my car in thi dealership. My worse nightmare car ever. I do no recommend This Clay Cooly Chevy car dealer, since I bought my car , I have none stop car problems . Avoid it avoid it avoid it take this advise from person experienced this location. The service is sucks too.
