Original Review - I live in IL and was shopping for a 2011 SLP ZL 560 they were selling in October 2013. Because of the distance from the dealership I tried to hash out a deal over the phone which in the end I thought was going to work out. I was dealing with Tim S. and he seemed like a decent and honest person at first. We had agree upon a price of 48k out the door which I was fine with until my credit union came back and said they would not give me the loan which to me was odd because they would almost always help me out. I was also putting down more than 20k for the auto also. I had also paid a 500$ deposit for them to hold the auto for me as I planned to drive down and pick it up with my brother. I was very clear with the sales rep I was dealing with Tim S. that the deposit was refundable which he replied and I have a email message from him saying it WAS. They had also over nighted the paper work for my wife to sign because she wasn't able to make the trip and was also co-signing. When the paper work arrived the final numbers for the auto was not at the price we had agreed upon. I called the dealership and told them the paper work was not correct and how my credit union turned me down for the loan. Within the paper work it also stated that the financing that I was approved for through the dealership was not a final approval and if at any point the final report comes back that I was denied the loan that I will have to make arrangements to take the vehicle back to the dealership. When I spoke with the rep over the phone he stated that I was approved and it was final approval which contradicts what the paper work said. Needless to say after the paper work not being accurate I sensed this was a bad idea and called it off which for me was really hard because I really wanted this type of Camaro because of how unique it is. Since October 17th I have been trying to get my deposit back even though I was told it was refundable. Now the same rep I was dealing with through the whole ordeal is now saying the deposit was not refundable and completely going against what he had told me in previous correspondence. And of course they are not returning my messages and hoping I forget about my $500.00. If at any point I was told the deposit was non-refundable I would of never put up the money knowing the distance between me and the dealership was so great. Like many dealerships they are all nice to you when you're ready to buy but the second things don't work out they cut ties and forget about you. I have given this dealership plenty of time to settle my account and am now having to write negative reviews which I wanted to avoid. I have no reason to be dishonest and lie in my reviews and as much as they might try and say they told me the deposit was non-refundable it just isn't true and they have yet to show proof that they told me which they keep claiming they did. I really didn't feel like taking time out of my life to write this review but I have little choice because they refuse to even return my messages and do the right thing.
