2006 Tribeca - Is this a good deal?
by devon5 on Fri May 22 23:14:12 PDT 2009
I just bought an 06 Tribeca 7-Pass Limited Edition for $17,778 out the door. The price before fees/taxes is $16,300. Is this a good deal? The sticker price was $21K, but it doesn't mean anything when I already expect to haggle with the sales guy. He was nice though. It has 65K with all leather, 3rd row, Nav, towing package, no DVD, new tires, blue with tan interior. Carfax clean with 1 owner. I really like this SUV. Been looking at Tribeca for several months now, but never test drive one before. Only test drive this SUV and was sold on it's road control and amenities. Salt Lake City, UT
Buying a Subaru in Las Vegas, Nevada
by hottyson on Sun Mar 29 10:44:19 PDT 2009
Greetings, I am trying to purchase a 2009 Subaru Forester from Las Vegas, Nevada. FEATURES *automatic transmission *tinted windows *cargo cover *PZEV Experian credit score is 682 Trans union credit score is 691 The best deal the salesman would give me was: COST *$22,440 + tax + title. *4.9% / 72 months (dealer pays rate buy-down) *Dealer pays shipping Am I right in thinking that offer was not a good deal? He would not budge on the price and it was only available "tonight" with the buy-down from 5.9% lowered to 4.9%. So I left and did not come back that night since I have read in the above posts of others getting such better deals (like alexlzl from nearby California for $20,000). 1- Do you think I should I go out of state like through nearby California dealers to get a better deal? Utah or Arizona also possible? 2- Or, perhaps the nearest Costco Auto program is worth while but it is 400 miles away! in American Fork, UT? I would really appreciate any wisdom you can shed on my situation. Thank you

Our 09 Limited with everything except NAV is currently getting about 24 mpg in mixed driving in the suburbs. It does much better on trips (27-30) but we tend to use our Minivan for very long trips. I had a 98 model before, and I really like the fact that Subaru went to a 16.9 gallon fuel tank for the 09 models. I know it doesn't sound like much, but the old one was 15.9 and the extra gallon means an extra day or two between every fill-up. You'll get 350-400 miles out of a tank if it's not all city driving, which is a whole lot better than my Miata, for instance (just 250 miles and I'm gas shopping). That's not hybrid-levels of range, but then again none of the cute utes have 20 gallon gas tanks, either. Even the hybrid Escape has a smaller tank than the Forester, and highway mileage isn't any better so you're not really getting any more range.
2003 Subaru Outback Purchase
by ecycled on Thu Jan 03 16:21:08 PST 2008
Ok. I'm new to Subaru but am looking at purchasing a used 2003 Subaru Outback from a local dealership in Salt Lake City, UT. Car has had two owners and according to a VIN number check (Carfax) it looks OK. Mileage is just under 79k. Asking mid $12k range. Any thoughts on this car? Anything to look for when I test drive in next few days? Thanks. Edward
2008 Subuaru Legacy GT
by scoobysubi on Wed Aug 08 15:24:56 PDT 2007
Hello everyone! First let me say what a great resource this board and site are! I'm looking to lease my first car and this site has been invaluable in teaching me the benefits of leasing a Legacy. I'm currently looking at a: 2008 Subaru Legacy GT -Auto Trans -Spoiler -XM Radio -Armrest extenders -Splash Guards, etc (Only thing the dealership has so I'll deal with it) I was quoted a "sticker price" of ~$31k from Doug Smith Subaru in American Fork, UT from Dempfey Bowling. For a 36month/15k lease the numbers were: Residual: 54% Money Factor: .00260 For a 36month/12k lease: Residual: 55% Money Factor: .00260 We've got about 10k to throw down, but ideally we want to throw down 4k at signing and then try to keep the monthly payments including tax below $400 (allowing our first 15 months to be "paid for" with the remaining 6k, while building up for the remaining 21 months) Is this a good deal? I don't really have my heart set on this car, really I'd be happy with a 2.5i Limited Edition as the major factors in getting a car are that it have: AWD, Leather, and be Automatic Transmission. For me a lease is ideal just because I live in Hawaii but will be attending school on the mainland for at least the next 3 years, but I have no idea if Ill be returning to the island or sticking on the mainland (and shipping a car here is a pain!) Thanks for your time! :)
