adjusted market price: by ndmike88 on Sat Jul 28 13:42:44 PDT 2007; Well I guess I won't be getting a 'Beca locally. I was e-mailing a salesman at one of the largest Subaru dealers here in Nashville. Everything was going great until he mentioned the '08's would have an adjusted market price. I asked him to explain seeing that I have never ever paid anything close to sticker price on any vehicle I have ever bought (including my '04 Corvette). That was the end of the e-mails. I asked him again to explain and no reply. If I want an '08 I guess I'll have to leave Nashville to find one.

adjusted MSRP???: by ndmike88 on Mon Jul 02 18:22:00 PDT 2007; Dealer here in Nashville just got in an '08 Tribeca. 5 passenger. Thats really all I know about it. Price was $33,400. That was the adjusted MSRP price.

Am I being hoodwinked? (pardon the pun!): by gladelilly on Sun Oct 08 12:42:59 PDT 2006; I think I found a deal but something is amiss, please give opinion/advice: An add with a local dealership online in nashville tn is advertising an 06 subaru forrester X model for 17875, it has 4500 miles on it. It is listed as an X model online but when you open up the "standard features" list it lists out the features for the Premium package. I did go to the dealership and this car was the X not the Prem. and they were asking 18995 on the lot....also, online they have a silver model selling on the same page that is listed as an X type but under the standard features it lists out the Prem package. Is this false advertising? Is this something I should take as the dealer being a "hoodwinker"? It feels smarmy...help! And of course, I want the Prem Pkg!...I haven't asked dealer about the descrepency yet...

Subies not so popular in TN so you can get a good price.Didnt go thru Subaru financing was pre approved already,so that enabled me to just talk price with the dealer not payments etc. Damn great info on performance mods thnx !! Let me know when you reprogram yours how worked etc ! Keep in touch . What state you in ? My GT is 05 sedan to answer your question.

The carsdirect price represents what you could actually buy the car for today from a dealer - so if you can beat that price you usually have a decent deal. I will use my ZIP code, but also the ZIP codes of other close by large cities (3-4 hour drive) when looking for the best price. The dealers locally usually can't compete with dealers in some other cities. If I drove 30k per year and had to pay for my own gas, I might have to look for something REALLY efficient and maybe not get a Legacy at all. If I were going to get a new Legacy it would have to be the GT :D Dennis
