Carman, Do you know what the June numbers are for a 36 month lease on the 2009 WRX Premium 4-door with 15,000 miles as far as residual and money factor? Thanks, RWS
Re: Buying 09 STI base, need opinions [r2m45]

Cumberland Valley Subaru is willing to deal, I don't know if you're in the Harrisburg/Carlisle area. For the first time ever we didn't have to go across the state line to buy a new car (Maryland) and picked up an Impreza Outback Sport for 18.3k - first time ever a PA dealership just gave a quote over the phone......

Re: lease Subaru Legacy LTD 2009 (not the GT) [chuck68516]
by joymom on Mon Apr 06 21:57:19 PDT 2009
Dear chuck68516, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!! I was on my way to the dealer, stopped home for the title and thankfully checked my email. I had my father with me and we were so thankful for your guidance. I did not go through with the deal. After sharing with him your findings, the dealer offered me: 2009 Legacy Special Ed (instead of the LTD) $5000.00 cash for my car (2003 PT Cruiser GT- with all the extras in good condition) $280.00 monthly/36/12,000 - no hidden fees- all taxes included, included Philadelphia, PA tax Dealer also will add the leather/heated seats in the SE (as I liked them in the LTD) It was late and decided to make the decision tomorrow- now today 4/7 My dad and I thought it sounded pretty good. Your thoughts if I could inquire again? One other Q-- I saw a review on consumer reports which stated the car had a problem in emergency situations with "It loses major points for handling that gets tricky in emergency maneuvers. " I think the review was not current even though it came up on a 2009 search. Didn't find any reivews that duplicated that-- any knowledge here. Sorry for the note length!!!! Thank you!!!!
The details of our new Outback Sport

I still think my "quick" check of lease prices takes everything (MSRP, MF, Cap Cost, rebates and residual) into account. I base it on minimal money down (title & doc fees, etc.), 36 months and 15,000 miles per year. Just divide the MSRP by the monthly payment. 70-75 is typical. 80 is very good. 90 is excellent, and 100 and over is great. As a test, try this on any lease you're looking at. Of course, the best way is to convert all of your costs into PV using your personal opportunity interest rate (not the MF), but this method is complicated and time consuming. Anyway, now that I am reviewing the details below (lease factor of 74 - not too good), but it looks like I'm paying within $26 of Invoice less $1000 in rebates plus acquisition fee. 2009 Subaru Outback Sport with iPod interface, splash guards, armrest extension with an MSRP of $22,208. MSRP: $22,208 Edmunds Invoice: $20,997 Aquisition fee: $595 Residual: $12658.56 (based on the above 58%, it appears that the splash guards are included in the residual, but the iPod interface and arm rest extension are not) Car Show Coupon: $500 Factory Rebate: $500 Cap Cost: $20,566.35 MF: .00220 (as reported here, not from the dealer) Monthly Lease: $301.73 plus 9% PA tax= $328.89 OTD: $549 ($328.89+doc, license, title fees of $220.11)
