2008 Subaru Outback 2.5i MT
by mithrandir on Thu Sep 06 06:49:59 PDT 2007
Yesterday, I took delivery on a quartz silver wagon from Becker Subaru in Allentown, PA. This is the 5th new car I've bought in my lifetime and without a doubt my sales experience with Becker was superior to any other. Pricing was very fair and the whole transaction was committed smoothly and quickly. It was certainly worth the 40 mile drive up to Allentown (I live closer to Philly). Becker sold me the 2008 at invoice ($23,040) and also I took the $1,000 cash rebate from Subaru, taking the price down to $22,040. Edmund's current TMV is $500 over invoice. I traded-in a 2003 Outback Base wagon MT with 46,700 miles in good condition for $11,000. "Market" trade-in value depending on condition and estimator (Edmunds, KBB, Intellichoice, etc) ranged from $9,084 to $12,175 so I am satisfied with the trade-in allowance. I paid $20,747 for the 2003 which means the car depreciated $9,747 over the 49 months I owned it. No complaints. Financing is going through SOA and I got 6.99% for 36 months. It was cheaper to take the $1,000 rebate than get the 3.9% subsidized financing (can't combine them). I did not have to negotiate or haggle on price at all. These prices represented their "initial offer" and did not see the need to talk them down. Usually a dealer's first price (purchase minus trade-in allowance) is so ridiculous and off by a few grand from the "real" price; however, it appears Becker is more interested in turn-around and making deals. They did not pressure me to buy add-on services and warranties either. When I picked up my new car yesterday, all the paperwork was in order and the prices on the sheets were exactly as promised. The people are very friendly and relaxed. My salesperson told me Becker is closed on weekends so everybody works a "regular" Monday-Friday schedule; the people are happier for it. I'm glad I went "out of my way" and drove to Allentown. Based on my experience at Becker I can't see buying a Subaru anyplace else.
Finally got my LL Bean Outback Wagon
by djetta on Fri Jul 21 14:46:07 PDT 2006
To anyone who may be interested in pricing, I got my 2006 LL Bean Outback wagon for $27.3 (before tax and rebates included). Included in the price is the arm rest extension, all weather mats and rear cargo net. Got this nice deal from Becker in Allentown PA and will pick car up next week. Very easy transaction and all done over the phone. Looking forward to my new wheels, but I will miss my Jetta.
Decent deal on 06 Forester 2.5X
by jchagtdi on Wed May 31 20:10:17 PDT 2006
I just purchased a 2006 Forester 2.5X 5peed manual. No extras, price before tax was $18,099 with $2000 rebate. The '06 has a much richer look inside and out than earlier Foresters, and the '06 felt more refined and was quieter than my aunt's '99 Forester that I drove recently. I purchased at Becker Subaru in Allentown, PA. They were great to deal with, and made they process very easy. I was surprised to have a choice of 4 exterior colors. They still have rows and rows (and rows) of more Foresters. They also seemed to have a staggering volume of Outbacks. They regularly advertise prices in the local newspaper that are below invoice, and they sell A LOT of cars. I paid below invoice for the Significant Other's '06 Legacy 2.5SE in January...both deals were made without haggling. We're a bit infested with Subaru dealers in the PA NJ NY tri-state area, and I have 13 dealers within 50 miles of my home. Despite this competition, Becker is the #3 Subaru dealer in the US for volume. They systematically deliver a good sales process/experience with prices that are hard to argue with, and a great selection of vehicles.
Just buy brand new

Try Becker Subaru in Allentown, PA. I don't know how they can sell their vehicles so cheaply. I recently purchased a 2006 Legacy 2.5SE SDN 5 speed manual for $19,100. They advertise in the Allentown Morning Call paper with prices changing weekly. Last week prices were: Forester X manual $17,999 Legacy 2.5SE SDN manual $19,600 Outback 2.5 manual $21,500 The first dealer I visited (closests to my home)wanted to sell me an '06 Legacy with 5000 miles for $500 off sticker. What a joke! I drove down to Becker and took delivery the same day. Excellent dealer to do business with. If calling or emailing, reference the Ad in the Morning Call. PS: If going with the 5 speed, I STRONGLY suggest the Momo short throw shifter availble through the dealer. It gives the car a much better, more sporty driving feel. It make shifting fun, rhather than a chore with the OEM gear shift.

Re: Decision to buy used 2005 instead of new "Becker" 2006 [cathmac]
by hoople on Tue Mar 21 04:41:33 PST 2006
Hoop's finally has an Outback! Hi Cath, steve and all those who are following this thread. First off: Cath, great deal on the 2005! Good for you! Persistance is your middle name! I now have nestled in my garage my 2006 Outback. Becker was true to their word...and price! Damaged spoiler was traded out and the car looks great. Once again: 2006 Outback with auto dimming mirror. $21,300 + $75 for doc's, tire tax. Passed on thier expensive "Gold Subaru Warrenty", going with Stacey Suburu quote of $1499.00/0 deduct/100,000miles For those in shouting distance of Allentown PA and looking to get a Great Deal...look them up! ONLY DRAWBACK of Becker. Owner is a "7th day adventus" (sp?) and closes the dealerships after Friday at 5 PM! That makes their 3rd in the country Suburu Volume dealership even more impressive! So you need to take time off work to complete the deals. Once again thank you cathy for all the update's and information....I could not do it without you! John
