Just picked up a Limited...Dark Grey w/platinum leather interior...Somerset Subaru, NJ. 09' Forester X Limited PZEV Not sure of the other options (auto dim mirror, methinks) Definitely had the rear bumper cover Dealer added crossbars, no charge. $25500 total Seems a bit high after visiting here, but same as what other dealers quoted...after bargaining. Oh...my first Subie, And Bill, the manager there, worked with me for over 2 months... and never pressured. Excellent sales manager.

Oh wow that is a deal! Ok so you bought yours... I see... that throws my leasing calculation off a bit however.. but thanks for the info. 2 questions however... 1. What is the VIP program, and I assume that I can't try and leverage that if I don't even know what it is! :) 2. I hope to be a subaru owner forever...hope... so for uture purchases I'd love to leverage the subaru bucks thing.....how does that work and how do I get signed up? Thanks!!!!!
June Incentives
by ateixeira on Mon Jun 02 13:09:06 PDT 2008
Looks like no new incentives for June. Oh well, 2009 prices are close to 2008 prices as is. Any rebates and they may end up cheaper, and then the last few 2008s would never sell.

Okay I just Leased a new 2008 Legacy special edition that has the sunroof and automattic transmission. A beautiful Pearl White color with tan interior, this car is way nicer and drives better than the oh so boring Toyota Camry. Still nicer than the Altima, Mazda 6 and Malibu also. Here is the smokin lease deal my wife and I received. First the Advertised price was $159 month $999 out of pocket total, 10k miles for 24 months. However with the miles we drive and at .15c per mile over I asked for 12k and 15k mile. The 12k was $168.78 and 15k miles was $178.72 all this with $999 total money our of pocket. Subaru must be subsidizing these well right now for the total msrp and what the other competitors are currently leasing for my guess is this car is about $75+ under per month right now. We bought in Los Angeles Sherman Oaks Subaru but they matched the Puente Hills Subaru special lease on this for me since they had the only pearl white car in all of So. Cal right now.
Re: Subaru Impreza 2.5 Auto, 5 Door w/ Prem Pkg Pricing [redsnare]

I am a happy new owner of a 2.5i Auto 5 Door w/ Prem Pkg. Picked it up from Ramsey Subaru (http://ramseysubaru.net/) out in New Jersey. My sales price was $18798. Here's my buying experience: 1) Went to edmunds.com, sent out requests for quotes via email to Subaru dealerships in NY and NJ (I'm in NY) 2) Within a few hours I got a phone call from an Alex P. from Ramsey: - "You're looking for the 2008 2.5i Auto w/ Prem Pkg?" - "Yup." - "Sale price is $18798" - "That's below invoice" - "Yup" 3) Got a call from a few other dealerships. Format was about the same: - "You're looking for the 2008 2.5i Auto w/ Prem Pkg?" - "Yup" - "Why don't you come down here and test drive the car" - "What's the sale price?" - "We're very competitive. I can't discuss price on the phone because I don't want you to shop my price around other dealerships" - "I'm looking at $18789 sale price from Ramsey out in NJ, can you beat that?" - "Those numbers don't add up. Our invoice is $19*** that's what we paid for the car. When your deal doesn't work out, keep us in mind" 4) Called back Alex to talk about financing - "I want a dark gray one" - "Do you want to put a hold on the one coming in in 10 biz days: $500" - "Yup. Credit card it. Can I get 0% financing - I have excellent credit?" - "For 2 years it's 0% for 3-5 yrs it's 3.*%" - "I'll do 2 years. How much do I have to put down?" -- oh did I mention this is my first car, period. - "You're doing 0% financing right? So no need to put anything down, it's someone else's money... I'll just put your deposit towards it to cover expenses and we're done." - "Awesome, thanks" 5) Ten days later, as promised I got a call to pick up my new car. Got the VIN number. Set up car insurance with Geico - got temp certificate to take down to the dealership. 6) Drove to the dealership - they're open on Sat. There the process took about 30 minutes. I saw the car. I met Alex + Team. I saw the buttons in the car. I got free all-weather mats. I got comped VIP owner's membership - so now i have some coupons. I also purchased a Subaru-provided warranty extension. Got the 3-yr bumper to bumper extended to 7 yr or 70,000 miles. This is my first new car and I won't be putting many miles on the car - so it's perfect for me. That cost an additional $1688. All other options like added security and what not, the Sales Manager just crossed off the list in front of me as he said I don't need any of that... Got the keys. Got temp, non-resident plates good for the next 20 days. All from Ramsey. Got into my new car and drove home. Will go back there in 2 weeks for perm plates (I signed a Power of Attorney form there so they can do the set up on my behalf). That was it. Now I'm thinking of something good for vanity plates.. Pricing breakdown for NY/NJ: 1) Sales Price: $18798 2) Extended Warranty: $1688.00 3) Aftermarke: $129.50 4) Sales Tax: $1725.55 5) Documentar: $289.00 Total: $22770 6) Deposit: -$500 Total: $22270 All this financed for 2 yrs at 0% with $500 down. I believe I got a good deal and had a good experience. Hope the anecdotal (but un-exagerated) narrative helps fellow newbies with the purchasing process. My friend and I both bought Subarus from Ramsey and my bro will probably purchase his 2002 Impreza Replacement from them as well. There ya go - cheers...
