Looking for NorthEast reputable dealer that does not want to rip us off.:-/

Hey Car man. First, let me congratulate you on helping people here(CarSpace)with their buying/lease experiences. We want to get the 2010 2.5i Limited (CVT trani 29 miles/galon :)). We currently have a 7 seat 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, which we love the ride :) (3 small kids :)) but, it's a little too big, almost never use the 3rd row & also "want to save some gas money". Our present lease(289/month) it's in a very good standing & expiring next Feb 2010. Nissan offer us a "Loyalty Customer offer" this offer from Nissan says that they pretty much will take care/void the remainder 3 present lease payment if we "buy or re-lease" another 2010 nissan Pathfinder. But like I said before this time we want to get out of this lease for the reason stated before (too big, gas, & also we just went over the miles..& calculate by next february we'll go over by ~4-5K miles..:-/). 1st Question; Do you think that we just should wait until next February & pay the excess miles (& also spend more money in gas per week & accumulate a lots of miles on our trip to NC we have next Thanksgiving..! :-O :))? 2nd Question; Finance(we prefer to own/finance this time) or Lease(we do like the "lower" payments from leasing) the Subaru now & let them add the total cost of the 3 remainder of payments (~...900 :-/)? I do have some "offers" from 2 dealers in NJ(work there & leave in NY) but their offers or "their deals" still seem a little "high" to me after doing price research on the same 2.5 limited model. One dealer gave my a "discounted total price of "28,668"+doc & tax, etc fees. The other dealer was a little more "reasonable" I think...27,140 (destination included) + Doc, tax & MV fees. They are not really "discounting" any price(from 27,140 offer) because i checked on the Subaru Web site the price of the same model and it came out to be the same as the second "better price" of 27,140( if you add their Doc, state tax, MV fees) so really it seems to me that they are not discounting anything or very little...:-/. I thought that i read here in CarSpace that some people got really decent discounts (at least ~2-4k discount from invoice)? We want low payments but it seem that every dealer we go they want A lot of money down(~4k even for lease!) and high payments(above 300/month)...they totally disregard/not honor that we have good credit & have been good customers with the present and previous leases & finances...:-/. I think we have to make a decision soon. 3rd. Question: Can someone recommend a decent & good dealer that have ethical , honest people in their dealer around NJ, PA or NY areas, that are willing to negotiate a good total price so that payments are low (include all those stupid fees too, etc)??? I'm considering also an auto Broker..because I'm getting tired of dealing with a lot of crooked people from these "dealers" i have encountered...>:-/ :(
Purchase of 2010 2.5i Limited Outback
by ncdude on Fri Nov 06 20:04:08 PST 2009
Today I went to either purchase or order an Outback from Huff Subaru in Wytheville, Va. I had been dealing with the internet manager who suggested I order since I didn't see anything in their inventory which I liked. A day or so ago I was informed that they now had one in stock like I wanted so I would not have to order. Immediately, I thought I was about to be the target of the old "bait and switch" technique. To my surprise, the car at the dealership had more options than I originally wanted, but they honored my original deal!!. There was no hassle, no outrageous add-ons, no pressure. It was the most pleasant car-buying experience I have ever had, and I came out of the dealership without having the feeling I had been" raped and pillaged". This dealership apparently wants to sell Subarus and they are not afraid to deal. So, if you live in nw-NC,ne-TN,sw--VA or southern WVa and are in the market for a Subaru, I suggest you contact them.

2009 Forester XT Premium Satin White Pearl for $22,998
by glin on Sat Sep 19 10:52:58 PDT 2009
We test drove the 2010 Forester for both XT Limited and X Base. Prefer the turbo but non-turbo is acceptable if turbo is too expensive. The sales in Performance Subaru is an old gentlement with a lot of knowledge and not push at all, love the attitude. We thanked him and said we'd think about it. We emailed every Subaru dealer within 200 miles asking price for XT Premium without options added. Turns out most of them don't have either 2009 or 2010 in the lots and I think they wrer quoting me the same 2009 XT and the same 2010 XT. (The 2009 is the one we got from Brockman; the 2010 is the one Prestige Subaru has, MSRP $27,986). The range is around $25,800 - $27,500 plus tax, tag, and documentation fee. BUT, Brockman Subaru in Amherst, VA offered us $22,998 plus tax, tag and $199 fee. It's a white 2009 XT. We used its price to ask other dealers again but no one even lowered their offer (ok, only one lowered $500.) Brockman is very honest upfront telling us that he gave this discount because they had hail weeks ago. We asked for pictures and he took them and emailed us. Frankly, we couldn't tell where the damages are on those photos and he said it's really hard to notice. He's been very responsive for our emails. So we decided to drive up for a look - even if we decided that we don't like it, it's still a good day trip because the route is beautiful. We really wouldn't know where the damage is if he didn't point out for us. You would see that when you look very closely and carefully but the paint is still intake. We asked for a test drive and he agreed. He didn't ask for driver's license and didn't sit in with us. He told us where we could drive so that we can test it on high way and country roads. We only drove like 2 miles - since we already test drove before, we just wanted to make sure this car has no problem. It's good. So we decided to buy it. We asked whether he could lower $500 and failed. But doesn't matter, $22,998 is still unbeatable. It comes with Puddle Light Kit and Auto-DimmingMirror/Compass. MSPR $27,272, We had to do the DMV in NC by our own, so we only paid $22,998 plus $199 fee there and he gave us a 30-day VA plate for us to drive back. Just completed the NC DMV job. The car is great. FYI, Brockman said they had several vehicles got hit, so you may want to email them to see whether you can find a good deal. The other dealers quotes me as: Foger (Charlotte) 2010 FXT $26,625 plus TTD; Parkway (Wilmington) 2010 FXT $26,375 plus TTD; Reynolds (VA) 2010 FXT $26,192; Maxwell (Burlington) 2010 FXT (with rear bumper cover, cargo tray, luggage compartment cover, splash guards, auto-dimming mirror) $26,573 - OTD $27,838; Bob Dunn (Greensboro) 2010 FXT $25,852 plus TTD - OTD $27,293; Cross Creek (Fayetteville) 2009 FXT $26772 plus TTD; Randay Marion (Mooresville) 2010 FXT $25,570.
2.5XT Limited
by mjk91383 on Mon Apr 27 21:03:47 PDT 2009
I'm in the process of working out a price on a 2009 2.5XT. The dealership I'm working with has offered me their available 2.5XT with Navigation for $30,145 OTD. They've offered to get me one without Navigation for $28,595 OTD. Both cars include Auto Dimming Mirror, Armrest Extension and Cargo Nets. They told me that those prices include their dealer fee ($395) and SC taxes ($300). For reference, the dealership that has the 2.5XT without Navigation on their lot told me that they wouldn't sell it for less than $28,911 plus taxes and fees. I've been conversing with dealerships in GA, NC and SC over the past few weeks and this is the best deal that I've been able to work out. They're all pushing for a sale before the end of the month but I'm seriously thinking about waiting until the weekend to make my purchase to see what the May rebates look like. Should I go ahead and take one of the available offers or hold out until May? Is $28,595 OTD a pretty good deal on a 2.5XT? I've found this forum to be very useful over the past couple of weeks and am looking forward to joining the Outback family.

Hey Ed, that deal was at Performance Subaru of Chapel Hill, NC. I should also note that no negotiations were done, I simply was checking price ranges. I think with some simple negotiations you could get that price down to 200/mo with the same lease parameters. I was specifically looking at manual legacy's, so they may have been more motivated to get that off their lot since they're not as popular.
