My wife and just bought 05 LL Bean Outback for $28,000 in May from Tri-City Subaru, Dover, NH, this was the out the door price, dealer kept the $1000 rebate. We had two other dealers match the price, but wouldn't go below. Consumer Reports stated that the wholesale price for the car is $28,400. I guess we got a good deal as one dealer couldn't understand how the other dealers were able to go so low.

Hi,   I purchased a Blue '04 X Auto no options for $17,500 including the NE rebate. I have driven it since september put 14,000 miles on it and I find same mileage forester X's for sale at cars.com for more than $17,000.   I e-mailed tri-city subaru at Dover, NH and asked the internet manager if he would take my offer. He called back and said yes only if I gave a $1000 deposit.   I picked it up the same day.
