Price drops..

A while (20 mos. ago) I was pretty set on a B9. Was trading in an end-of-lease Outback. Dealer was an idiot... Best he was giving was some jive like a $3K drive off and $500 a month on 5 pass Limited. Ended up with Saab 9-7 5.3, $0 drive off, $415/mo w/Bluetooth & Nav. That car is awful, we call it the Blue Pig. Anyway, my sister-in-law just leased a B9 7-Pass ultra fully loaded 36mo/15K in SoCal for $1200 drive off, $319/mo w/ tax. Pretty sweet deal, I might finally get my B9 in the fall.

I have three days to take it back, so if any of you could chime in and let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Input Re: Lease & Price Quote For 09 LL Bean Model
by jverrico on Mon May 12 16:26:39 PDT 2008
I've settled on the '09 LL Bean model as the one that fits what my wife and I are looking for - I've test driven and researched about a dozen cars and small SUV's and the Forester is the right mix of all the must have items for upstate NY - awd, great safety rating, decent mpg, heated seats, room for kids/cargo, etc. However, I am not sure our local dealer is giving us good price quotes - I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts. Here's what we're being offered: LLBean with some basic options like all weather floor mats, aero cross bars, side molding, and a few other minor extras, purchase price $26,306. Lease quote is 42 months (?) and 15,000 miles w/$0 down, $439 month. Purchase quotes are 48 mos/$669 month and 63 months (another ?) for $529 month. Any thoughts on the lease quote. The residual is @$14,500 (don't have exact #) and I have not been told the money factor but it has to be around 7.2% rate. Thanks for any input, help, etc. I want to buy the car, but am not sure about those rates & prices.
Re: Proposed Lease from Dealer...Help!!! Purchasing Soon [Car_man]

I reside in NV but the dealer i received the quote from is in Northern CA so i dont know how the incentives apply. Based on the payments you've calculated, it appears there's a huge difference. I will have to request a breakdown on the payment. I did receive another quote from a dealer in OR with about $300 more discount on the price so i have ammunition to go back to the dealer in CA. I was also concern about the residual since it appears a little low for 36 mos. Thanks again for your expert advice.
Lease Offered from Dealer....
by speedracerr on Tue Feb 12 11:12:49 PST 2008
Here's the lease offer from a dealer i got today for a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX 5-Dr Auto with Premium and VDC. MSRP: $28,797 Purchase Price: $26,591 Edmunds Invoice Price: $26,317 Option 1) 36 mos, 15k/yr: $678.39 Total Drive Off, $433.64 payment including tax. $14,974.44 Residual (52%???), and 0.00150 lease factor. Option 2) 48 mos, 12k/yr: $651.32 Total Drive Off, $406.57 payment including tax. $13,246.62 Residual (46%???), and 0.00215 lease factor. I have a couple of questions: Can i do better on the purchase price? I have Tier 1 credit, is the residual and MF the best i can get or is the dealer marking up these numbers? Also, the lease calculator i have shows the payment should be $416.80 for 36 mos and $393.66 for 48 mos; why is the dealer payment higher? Could this be due to additional hidden dealer fees i'm not aware of? I think i have a good offer but i think that there's definitely room for negotiation. Lastly, does VW offer any service/ maintenance plan i can try to get the dealer to throw in with the car?
