We picked up our Newport Blue Pearl 2009 Forester 2.5i Limited PZEV (wow that's a long name!) last night. We were under the VIP program so it was 2% below invoice, which came out to $25,023 after adding the PZEV option, bumper cover, cargo cover, cargo liner, and mud flaps. It didn't come with cargo nets so they deducted that amount. I may install them myself later. Dealer was Fitzgerald Subaru in Rockville, MD, AKA "fitzmall.com" for the famous web site. Big kudos to the dealer, they really took care of us. We were in and out of there in less than one hour. 355 Toyota could learn from them, that deal took about 3-4 hours and was like a dentist's office visit compared to Fitz. We had $1600 Subaru Bucks, so the price paid came down to only $23,423, pretty amazing. Add 6% MD sales tax, and tags, of course.

I just picked up an Outback 2.5i a/t with only the all-weather mats and cargo net as options. OTD price (incl. D.C. tax, tags, fees) was $23,400 approx. from Fitzmall in Rockville, MD. This is the Fitzmall "value price" ($367 above the "internet" price) which gives discounts on some service and a number of free oil changes plus a free loaner car for life when serviced there. The latter was my add-on and is not pushed on you by sales force (at least not too hard). Very good experience, great car. got the Atlantic blue. Also got the 2.9% financing and wish I could have afforded to do the 2-year financing at 0%, but all in all a great deal. Subaru has great incentives on a great car right now and Fitzmall. Highly recommended. Also thanks to the forum, which I used for weeks to track prices and do research. A great resource for consumers. Also, salesman told me he does not work on commission. True? But there does seem to be a commission-like system based on customer satisfaction, apparently.

I have a manual pop-up, installed by Adler & Mandell in Rockville, MD. Back in '99 it cost me $300, plus $70 to cut some roof rails short and reinstall them. My wife put a power tilt/slide roof in her Legacy, that was around $900 IIRC. No regrets. Both are made by ASC. ASC's web site will refer you to local installers if you check. -juice

This Harmon Kardon you spoke about, what exactly is it and how is it installed? What's the purpose of having MP3 is you can't listen to your Ipod through it? Can it really be for only homemade CD's?

I recently leased(My 1st lease) the Tribeca from Annapolis Volvo and Subaru. I must say after walking out of this dealership, I have never had a better buying experience. They went out of their way to make my buying experience pleasant, enjoyable and supportive. Never had a buying experience that came anywhere near this in the Metro DC area. I bought the 7 passenger with Nav and many other extras. I paid thousands off $37,000 + MSRP. My payments will be 380/month for 36 months, 15000/yr mileage, no money down except taxes, tags and 1st monthly payment and will owe about $21,000 if we buy the car from them. I love this SUV! This is my first Subaru. I am enjoying this better than my FX which I sold. Someone mentioned a back up camera, I assume this was an add on but found the camera in my FX useless when it was sunny or rainy out and I couldn't see the nav picture. Good luck with the camera, I would not choose to have that installed in this car. Has anyone figured out the MP3 player? I want to attach my ipod to it and so far I am very confused? Thanks
