I've been quoted 19,995 in LA for a Forester X - no extras. I do have a question for anyone with an X. Does it have a cigarette lighter (for the ipod)? Also has anyone been able to play their ipod in the car? I'd also like to upgrade the speakers after my purchase as well. Thanks!

I feel confident I have done my research on the cost, and am looking forward to zooming around in a Forester with my dog. However, looking through these posts I am noticing not many individuals from the South, or at least I have seen no mention. Could someone help with suggestion of a fair dealer in the SE region? Preferrably, TN., MS., or LA. Thanks!

I got an '04 XS PP MT with auto-dimming mirror/compass, sec. sys., and cargo bin for $22950 at the end of Sept., and I'm in an area with few Subaru dealers. If you are getting AT then that sounds about right to me.

insurance: by a1bogard on Wed Oct 08 08:27:07 PDT 2003; Actually, when I moved a few blocks down the street a little over a month ago, I was in a new zip code and found out that my insurance rates had gone down by almost $260/year! I got a nicer place plus cheaper insurance! That was a pleasant surprise. Interesting stats on Subaru owners. Actually, I know a doctor that recently traded in her old Outback and bought a new one. And she can certainly afford a more expensive car.
