Buying a car from a Subaru Car Dealer
Ouch, but Kansas gets you on the other side. My property taxes for one year are going to be up toward 400. At least those are deductible. Oh and my 5,000 buck pop up camper is around 400 also. Can you say Luxury tax??? I cringe at the thought of a big RV... Unfortunately, in Kansas there is little industry so the govt. has to get it from the citizen's hides. The only good thing I have ever seen re: KS taxes is that "difference" tax vs. total price.
Hi, I got mine from Figgs Subaru in Topeka Kansas. That's where I got my last one in Feb 05. This is the shortest time for owning a Suby but the deal was too good to refuse. I could have gotten a plain X and essentially have come out within a thousand bucks of being even from my old one on that, but that was because I got a killer deal on the first one is my take and because of the tax thing here where you only pay on the value difference instead of the total price. That was worth almost a thousand for me since my old Forester was only 8K something different in value. I did have to get white which is one of my least favorite colors, but I guess I will just have to suffer(grins). Nothing is selling out here. The rumor is that one of the dealerships within a hundred miles of here might even go out of business. The KC dealership(s) don't deal much but for example, the Lawrence KS dealer still has a few 06's in automatics. I wanted a stick and this was about it, but there are a couple of 06's in Lawrence that look really good if you want an automatic. You can check stocks out from the Subaru.com website looking under the dealers section. Regarding the 500 rebate, I gave mine back for a 5.9% rate from Chase. There are also Subaru Loyalty discounts in some regions right now for 500 bucks through tomorrow I guess. Mine came out in the last week of the month. There will probably be another incentive next month and it could be for more. The Edmunds site here has an area that will tell you whether it is best to take the rebate or the financing in the pricing area. Heck, it might be worth the drive based upon some other prices I have seen.
Purchased an 2.5i sedan this weekend at Jack Miller in Olathe, Kansas. Only options were the spoiler and autodimming mirror with compass. I got an offer for $400 under invoice after my first email contact. I went to the dealership the next day and they honored their quote with no added fees or hassle. I did have to haggle a bit on my trade in, but I got fair value. Got the 2.9% financing with no problems. I would recommend them if you are interested in getting quotes over the internet. They were very responsive.
