Looking to Lease or Buy a 2006 Legacy GT
by shortbusspecv on Wed Apr 05 16:05:05 PDT 2006
Ok.. here is what I'm looking at.. probably 500 under invoice. Purchase price of 27,356. I am curious first if the 1,500 incentive is still appliable for leases. I am looking for a few options on the leases.. all with 15k in miles. I know they have very aggresive terms on one particular program (often 39mo). I just want to have 36 and 39 months figured. One with first payment due up front. One with 2,500 down up front. What would the payments look like on this? And again, I want to know if those rebates count on leases. THANKS!
which way do I go?

At this point I do not have written quotes. The biggest difference between the demo and the new Tribeca (both with navigation systems) is the mileage. Demo has 5000 miles, while other does not. The salesman at the dealership with demo has offered "no more than $32K", in his words "under invoice" for that one. It is still considered new and would have full factory warranty. The other dealership started the negotiating at approximately $34,500, which I believe is over invoice for the Tribeca with navigation and no miles. I guess my real question is whether the fact that one of the vehicles has 5000 miles on it is relevant. All 3 dealers are in the central IL/IA area. I'll see if I can get detailed quotes on all 3 and post then.

I had been to one subaru dealer today, they are now having a dozen of so-called "environmental fallout" Forester for sale. Environmental fallout means when cars were shipped to US, there were some sulfur(??) leaked from chimney that affect the paint of the whole shipment. Subaru put the whole lot on sale as used vehicle and void the paint warranty for these vehicle, they said I could purchase the paint warranty from them. The stick price is $500 below invoice. My question is: will these environmental fallout have long-term effects on these vehicle? What is the appropriate price for them? $500 below invoice seems not a good deal.
