FINALLY GOT MY 2007 TRIBECA (2 1/2 MONTHS LATER!)
by flgirlaol on Wed Feb 28 08:08:15 PST 2007
Remember my story about how I put in an order for my black 2007 Tribeca LTD in October and my husband picked it up in December and wrecked it? Well, I finally got it out of the body shop this past weekend! What an ordeal! This was the first time I have ever seen my car as I was out of town when my husband picked it up here in FL to drive it up to Atlanta to meet me at the airport with it. Well, he was with my mom in the car and they hit another car crashing the whole front end. The two of them were stuck in a small town in GA 3 hours from Atlanta and had to get my brother to drive down from there to pick them up. My husband had just picked up this car only 2 days before! Thank God for our sales rep (J.B.) at Eddie Acardi Suburu in Ft Lauderdale who helped them through this ordeal and got the car towed back from GA to a body shop in Ft Lauderdale. Well, the body shop got the car in January and has had it ever since. They did a great job, but Suburu took quite some time getting parts in. One last part took the longest and it was some pad between the hood and engine. It was out of stock until mid-March! We couldn't get the car until then. We contacted a customer svc rep at Suburu (I wish I knew his name) and they were so kind and took one off a car off the lot for us. They did not have to do this. I just love this car and I just LOVE the aftermarket Bluetooth phone system I had installed at the dealership. I can keep my hands on the wheel and talk on the phone. It's great and so much safer when I have to take a call with kids in the car. Today I tooked up a stereo cable for my IPOD and now I'm playing all my tunes in the car. But it's hard to compete with finally having the XM integrated in my car (my Lincoln Navigator had it added later). This car is so cute and it's so unusual down here where you just don't see these around. Kids also love the DVD but they were used to that from the other car. Took it to the dealer yesterday because the auto-start button isn't working. They ordered a new motor for it and checked my brakes for me as I was concerned after the wreck that those were not working well. Everything checked out fine. J.B. my salesperson even gave me the keys to his car so I could take it to the mall so I didn't have to wait. Did I also mention I'm thrilled with all the extra room in the garage after getting rid of the big old SUV? I have tons of space. :shades:

I just purchased a 2005 OB LTD during the promotion. It listed for $29141 and I paid $25087. I was pretty happy with that deal. I went with the regular engine as I too was concerned about gas mileage. I also heard that you can expect to pay more for all maintenance on the 6 cylinder because it is crammed in there and just hard to work around.

wanting a pickup truck, to considering a wagon like Pacifica or Outback...can anyone summarize the real differences between an Outback wagon in LL Bean trim vs VDC trim???...thanks...also, considering the H6 option, 250 HP without needing a turbo, would anyone consider the 4 cyl turbo as an option, as the turbo is just one more thing to break???... Need Confirmation that I'm getting a good deal....

Hello All. I am pricing a XT w/ Premium Package, here's the latest deal I've been quoted: $24875.00 Base Price $ 550.00 Destination Charge $ 190.00 Package F4K (items incl. listed below) $ 150.00 Paged F4P $ 110.00 Popular Equip Group 4 $ 250.00 Popular Equip Group 7 $ 398.00 Processing Fee $ 1856.61 Sales Tax @ 7% $ 22.00 Title and GA Warraty Rights Act _______________ $28401.61 Total Drive Out Price The options I've gotten with the 4 option groups are: rear bumper cover, cargo tray and splash guards, interior air filter, rear cargo net and gray armrest extension, cargo bin and rubber floor mats,auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass and security system upgrade. If you take out the Processing fee, sales tax, and title and GA Warrant Rights Act the price of the Forester becomes $26,125. The invoice price on edmunds.com is $26, 420. The TMV for my zip code is $27,037. I know that you are supposed to get the "processing fee" eliminated from your contract, but the dealer had already quoted me a price practically at invoice (off by only a few dollars). When I said I needed the price to come down a more in order to make it more reasonable for me to get a new car when my Honda Civic works just fine...the dealer said there wasn't much more room to move, but that he could give me $300.00 more off. He took the $300.00 off the Base Price and left the processing fee. I think this is probably as low as I'll get the price, but wanted to get a second opinion. Any thoughts are appreciated. (Oh by the way it has less than 10 miles on it and I'm looking at a Red Forester) Thanks!

andrewk, there's no reason to overpay for any car in this economy, and especially Subarus that don't sell well at all... even Lexus and MB C-class sell below invoice these days. Why don't you give a couple of our dealers a call (Royal in Decatur and some other one in Gwinnett are big and will deal with no problems) and pick it up down here? Like I said, they only have SEs in stock but they sell really cheap, so why not? You could break it in on the slopes of Tennessee :-)
