Make the trip. Come down by train, to go Union Station in DC. You can then go over to the Subway stop and take the redline towards Shady Grove on the "Metro". You won't even have to transfer. Hop off at the White Flint stop, and Fitz has a shuttle that will pick you up. I can vouch for them because we've purchased several cars there, including our current 09 Forester. If you want I can give you a referral to a specific salesman I like. It's coachjuiceman at gmail.com. Then you can drive back. Heck, stay for a while and go say hi to the Obamas.

Hello.. I've been trying to get a good price on a Outback Sport today, and the best I have come up with is 20,300 OTD in Connecticut (where I live). I would have thought that was a good price judging by Edmunds "TMV" (around 19,600 + tax/tags/conv), but I have seen lower prices advertised on Fitzmall.com and other dealerships in the DC metro area. When I tell dealers around here about those prices, they act like I'm crazy or must be mistaken and there's no way they can sell it cheaper. What's my plan? Right now I'm expecting to travel to Maryland or VA to buy my new car.

Take the train down to the DC area and buy from fitzmall.com, a no-haggle dealer. I'm sure they're discounting way more than just $2000 off. That price seems ridiculously high in this economy. It's actually optimistic even in a good economy. There is a no-haggle dealer in NY also, though I forget the name. Or try a buying service if you belong to a Credit Union or Costco.

Cool, and yes I remember. We just sold that Legacy, which the hub caps came from, and replaced it with a new 2009 Forester Limited. Glad to see her spirit lives on, LOL. You're beating Edmunds' TMV so I think you're doing well. Compare those prices with fitzmall.com, since they publish no-haggle prices up-front, and have 2 dealers in the MD/DC area.

Good point, and I'll add another - prices vary by region. You can easily get a good deal here in the MD/DC/VA area. There are 7 Subaru dealers near me to compete for your business. I think there are 2 in the entire state of Alaska, so you just won't get the same deals there.

Soudns a little high to me, at least compared to what we can get here in the DC area. Check out fitzmall.com for comparison. I can't post a specific name but e-mail me if you want the name of the guy who sold us our Legacy.
