Sorry I haven't been online lately. Been busy with school stuff. I've gotten half way through the nasioc engine thread. I agree, no model of car will be perfectly built and there will be issues with all of them, to different degrees. I'm looking to lease for 3 years, which is the length of the warranty, so I feel comfortable with still getting one anyway. I love my current Impreza and want to stay with Subaru. I've finally moved up to talking to dealerships in the Denver metro area. Heuberger in CO Springs keeps bragging they are the #1 dealer in the nation and so far they are quoting me $26,415 for an 09 WRX premium manual sedan. Not sure if I'm going for the premium or not, but figured I'll start with the worst case scenario and work my way down. I'm hoping within the next few weeks to talk to more dealers and see what's possible.

I just use a calculator and/or some scrap paper to calculate my leases. Simple math is all you need. 99% of the online lease calculators don't give you an accurate payment, especially the Edmunds's lease calculator. Your adjusted MSRP is $23,342. Add the Special Edition Discount of $1750 back onto that, $23,342 + $1750 = $25,092. Residual is 57% of that = $14,302.44. If your sale price is INVOICE it's kind of high but using the net cap cost of $21,016 minus the residual of $14,302.44 = $6,713.56 divinded by term of 36 months = $186.49. Next, take residual, $14,302.44 plus net cap cost of $21,016 = $35,318.44 multiply by MF of .00170 = $60.04. Add $186.49 plus 60.04 = your pre-tax payment of $246.53. As I said, if you are going with invoice, you are doing yourself a disservice. You should easily be able to negotiate to well below invoice. I'm at $19,072 sale price on an MSRP of almost $500 more than the one you are looking at.so you should be at $18,500 at least. As far as finding a better deal goes, you can do everything by email and even have a delaer FedEx you the paperwork. Don't just settle with what you can get locally. Check all the high volume dealers in your area. Worst case scenario, you fly from Kentucky to Denver, CO for less than $220. The dealer can/will pick you up from the airport even. I'd do it to save myself over $2,000 in higher payments.

Thanks for the info. The one I am looking at in in KY so I can't get the deals that I could in CO. (I just moved from Denver so I know how it is!). I'm still working with them to see what they can do. Sticker on the one I'm looking at is $23,342...inlcuding destination and the SE discount. They are offering me 20,565 after the $1500 lease cash. I think they are not including destination, and I just called them out on that. I usually never have a problem getting dealers under invoice, but there are barely any Legacys on the lots out here...so it makes it tough. Also, you mentioned waiting for the 2010's to come out....wont that reduce the residual and make the actual lease prices go up? I've run into that in the past. Thanks again for the help.
Subaru Impreza outback sport price- good?
by ameliabedilia on Wed Aug 13 21:52:59 PDT 2008
We were quoted a price of $19700 +$500 dealer fee for a 2008 automatic impreza ouback sport. The msrp is $22,281. It has a few extras, like the auto dimming mirror with compass and homelink. Is this a good price? Should I keep working it or just take it? We are in Denver, CO. Thanks so much.
2008 Impreza 2.5i Base Sedan wth Man. Trans. Lease
by jvost on Thu Nov 01 11:39:03 PDT 2007
I wanted an inexpensive, reliable, AWD car for my kids and this car seemed to fit the bill; I leased this car from a Denver dealer at the following terms: MSRP: $17,640.00 Discount: $ 710.54 Discounted Price: $16,929.46 (inc. D&H of $399.95) Acquisition Fee: $ 595.00 Capitalized Cost: $17,524.46 Downpayment: $0 Sec. Dep. $0 Miles: 10K/Yr term: 36 Mos. Money Factor: 0.00190 Residual%: 63% Payment: $232.50 (B4 sales tax) All in all this seemed like an ok deal considering my only out of pocket was the first month's payment of $232.50. The high residual of 63% and the reasonable MF of 0.00190 made for a low payment. I wanted the Premium Package, but that increased the cap. cost $1500 and decreased the residual to 61%. That would have increased the payment $53.65/Mo. to $286.15, and I didn't judge it to be worth the extra. Every dealer I contacted quoted MF of 0.00190 on 36 mo. deals; if there's a 0.00160 rate out there as quoted in this forum I couldn't find the car and/or terms on which it was available. By the way, the sedan had higher residuals than the hatchback. On a 36 mo. 10k deal the residuals were 59% for the base model and 58% for the premium package.
March lease program for March
by glevitt on Sun Mar 04 20:35:42 PST 2007
Hi Car_Man Curious if you know what the lease program is for March for a Impreza WRX Wagon. I can find a program for the i wagon and work backwards to the money factor, but I can't find anything for the WRX. I am thinking either a 24-27 month lease or 36. 10-12k mi/year. If you have some rough figures I could put into a model that would be great. Many Thanks!
