Re: Questions on an '08 Saab 9-3 2.0T Lease Deal [chazbug]

Sounds like a decent deal on the lease end, but the fees need to be negotiated out. He is giving you Saab's rate of 4.35%, which is good because sometimes it is marked up. So the lease part looks like this with no money towards cap reduction: MSRP: 33730 Sales Price: 31764 Residual : 60% Money Factor: .0018125 Effective APR: 4.35% Term: 39 Residual: 20238 Depreciation: 11526 Monthly Depreciation: 295.54 Monthly Finance Fee: 94.25 Total Monthly Payment: 389.79 Now here is what you need to do to improve this deal 1) Saab's lease acquisition fee is $595. They are marking it up $100 on you. Tell them you know it's $595, and that is what you expect to pay. 2) The security deposit is BS. I believe this buys the interest rate down, but the rate is 4.35 without the deposit, so they are making more money because of this. I would negotiate this out. 3) Like the other poster stated, the gas fee is BS. The $45 dollar dealer fee also sounds like BS. It's called added dealer profit, and I would negotiate it out. So you should be able to negotiate a down payment of $2316 = $388 + 595 Bank Fee,+$12.50 NY State tire recycling fee + $1311 NY State Sales Tax (at a rate of 8.375%) + $10 NY State Inspection They probably will balk at this, but if you threaten to walk, or tell them you got a better deal elsewhere, they will likely come around. Good luck. I just leased one myself. It was a painwith all the games they tried to play. I had to walk out of the finance office twice when signing the papers because they tried to sneak extra fee's in there. So keep on your toes. p.s. That sucks that NY makes you pay the tax up front. One of the big advantages of leasing for me is you only pay tax on the monthly payment, so your only paying on the depreciation, not the full value of the car.
06 saab 93 or 07 saab 93 new

Comments please... Was just about to buy a 2007 saab 93 manual transmission, no frills. great deal I think.. The car was about 26,700 and with rebates, owner loyalty and GM supplier discount and not charging me dealer fees.. I am getting the car for 23,500 Drive out taxes everything. GA has 7.00 tax. But on my way home I see a 2006 saab 93, auto, heated seats, upgraded stereo, headlight washer, heated seats with 24k miles.. and I talk them down to 17,791... So I will pay 19,500 drive out... taxes everything. I'm really leaning toward the used vehicle because it's just nicer. More frills.. Great driving car.. And I save 4k... What you think????

It definitely can be done! I got my '07 Sportcombi Aero (with touring and winter) for $28,000. Add to that a student rebate of $400, loyalty rebate of $1000. Plus, there's a $1K premium over the sedan to get the 'combi. Take away winter ($550) and touring (about $1100), and you get... $28,000 - $400 (student) - $1000 (loyalty) - $1000 ('combi vs. sedan) - $550 (winter) - $1100 (touring) $23,950 (give or take a couple hundred bucks) So, it's definitely possible. As a side note, has anyone compared mileage running on regular vs. premium gas?

In my recent experience [and location NYC/NJ Metro area], best place to get your best 9-7X deal is here, the largest Saab dealer: http://www.jmksaab.com/contacts.htm speak with the sales manager and tell him that Mr. Shelly Jacobs recommended you [no, get no fee or commission from them]. Own the 2007 9-7X 5.3 for past month, absolutely terrific vehicle! If driving on highway at a steady 70 to 75 MPH figure on getting only 15 mpg, but takes regular 87 grade gas. Also, spend $30 and replace the std. wipers with the new Michelin Radius [at Walmart] or new Michelin Optimum [at Target], same superior wipers with different names per store, and do spend another $395 for the dealer installed backup radar sensor.
2007 9-7x 5.3i
by xifang on Mon Apr 16 23:25:12 PDT 2007
I picked up my new 9-7x 5.3i this past Saturday and wow what a great handling and powerful vehicle. I looked at the Envoy, Volvo and BMW and I must say there is no comparison. I have enjoyed my first 72 hours not to mention the $4500 rebate as well as the $2000 Saab loyality cash as I have a 9-3 also. That was just to get started in the deal. This vehicle has lots of extras leather heated seats, a DVD player with wireless headphones a stero system that is incredible. I also got the navigation system premium lights as well as. I could not beleive the pickup on this when you hit the gas pedal. The over 300 hp really moves this baby down the highway. It looks different than anything else out there in a sea of look alikes the 9-7x is truely a wonderful vehicle. The Saab dealers also treat you special and are very helpful. I highly recommend this vehicle. It is not a pure made in Sweden but it is Swedish designed and it is a head turning Saab that you can be happy and proud to drive. Steve

Does the GMCard now work for Saab? I have 1200 on my GMCard I was going to use for a Tahoe until Gas popped from 1.50 to now (this is a few years old now obviously).
