PLease....can any recent Cayman buyers update pricing info
by dwpc on Sun Nov 08 11:08:59 PST 2009
I'm looking at leasing a new 09 Cayman and would appreciate an idea of current Nov 09 pricing by dealers for new Caymans, especially in So CA. Are they still discounting as heavily as earlier in the year?
Lease of Pre-owned 06 Cayman $...Major Penalty?
by dwpc on Wed Nov 04 16:34:19 PST 2009
Hi Carman: I thought I'd get a bargain by leasing a pre-owned 06 Cayman S. The Porsche dealer's quote for a 36 mo. 12K/yr lease was: Price $41.5K Cash Down $7.5K MF .00350 48% residual (on price) "bank fee" of $895 Pmt: $670+ tax Not good. Looks like they really don't want to lease pre-owned cars. I could get essentially the same pmt on a brand new 09' Cayman S with a little price haggling. Or a stock Cayman for $100/mo less and 50% less $$ down. I expected a lower MF reflecting the going loan rates and much a higher residual because its past the worst depreciation years and its a Porsche. With those lease variables, there's no way to get a price low enough to make up for the low residual and this work. Are my expectations unrealistic? It looks like I'll have to forget this as a bargain. (i inadvertently posted this on the 911 forum too.)
CarMan...Any advise on leasing an '07?

Hi. More on my hope to lease a pre-owned 07 Cayman S Porsche dealer's quote for a 36 mo. lease of a pre-owned '07 Cayman S: Price $41.5K Cash Down $7.5K MF .00350 48% residual (on price) "bank fee" of $895 Pmt: $670+ tax Not good. Leasing a used 911
by dwpc on Mon Nov 02 11:27:14 PST 2009
It looks like the flat depreciation on late model used 911s should make for a great lease deal. The Porsche website doesn't say anything about pre-owned car leases except that they offer them on cars up to 5 yrs old. I haven't leased a car in about ten years and need a refresher on evaluating a deal. I've never leased a used car. I hope some one can refer me to an informative website and maybe provide the Porsche MF for a used 911. Is it a good idea to negotiate a lease via e-mail? The dealer seems resistant to discussing a used car lease and I'd like to go back fully prepared. BTW, the car is a Porsche-certified '05 911 Carrera (997?) with 50K miles . I still need to research maintenance costs that I might be exposed to.
Base Cayman Lease Question
by voodooist on Thu Jun 28 09:16:19 PDT 2007
Hello, I'm looking for suggestions on a Cayman Lease. So far this is the car I am looking at, though I did find one slightly more expensive with the heated seats, xenon lights and stereo upgrade that is an option also. Base Cayman 5 speed with no upgrades other than the Arctic Silver Paint, 18" Cayman S wheels and some floor mats. My credit is excellent, I was quoted the following: 52,300 MSRP 48,789 Sale Price 3000 down 48 Month Lease 10K Miles per year $722.35 total monthly payment in CA (w/Tax) We hashed through so many different scenarios that I am not sure if they are taking into account about 2K in equity I have in my trade in this calculation or not. Miles aren't really an issue for me as I have another car, this is the weekend fun and trip car. I have played with the leasing calculator on the site, but still not sure if I am plugging the numbers in correctly Some have suggested that I save up more cash for a down payment and buy the car using extended financing such as a 72 Month loan. Any suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Latest 911 Lease Offer-Aug 1 2009
by blackberryxyz on Sat Aug 01 10:13:27 PDT 2009
My local Porsche dealer in Marin County Ca, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge is advertising a brand new 2009 911 C4 manual coupe, msrp of $86,870.00 for a 36 month lease of $980.57 plus tax and $5,500.00 down. Seems like a good deal if you are tempted to acquire a 911. Unfortunately for Porsche it seems most people, including probably myself, are concluding that their current car they own now is just fine for a while. In my case it is a BMW 745i, so the 911 deal while very tempting to me, may just fall into the "possibly want", definitely "don't need" category. Either the price has to get even better (which it very well may) or I have to get more passionate about buying another 911.
