Welcome,

Locate a Pontiac Car Dealership in your State

As GM's performance division, Pontiac dealers stock vehicles that express the excitement about driving. Only two Pontiac cars are four-door sedans: the midsize G6 and larger Grand Prix. Meanwhile the G6 also comes as a two-door coupe and convertible, the GTO coupe is a powerful V8 muscle car, and the Solstice is a game-changing two-seat convertible sports car. The small Vibe wagon is nearly an SUV and the Torrent crossover edges even closer to that. And the Montana SV6 treads a line between minivan and SUV. Certified Pontiac dealers can be found on Edmunds.com, along with free online price quotes for convenient comparison shopping.

Purchased 2009 1.8L

Thanks to all who have posted in this forum. I gained a lot of knowledge reading your posts prior to making my decision to buy. I bought a 2009 1.8L with the Preferred Package, A/C, A/T and the Audio System with AM/FM Stereo, CD and MP3 Playback. The Smokers Package was included but was the only thing I did not need. Had a great buying experience with O'Neil Buick Pontiac GMC in Warminster, PA that I documented in the Dealer Sales Review area of CarSpace.

I bought the G8 GT which is the V8 version. Yes the V8 does cost more to buy. The MPG may not be as bad with the Active Fuel Management (Displacement on Demand). I average about 26 MPG on the highway so far (with the cruse control on). The engine itself is built along side the Vortec 6.0 that is used in the Silverado in the same factory in Mexico. The difference is the truck engine is cast iron that the G8 GT is engine is aluminum. The oil pan and the exhaust manifolds are unique to the G8 GT. What is not generic truck parts (that would not fit) appears to be taken from the Corvette. I would not be to terribly concerned with finding parts. The only possible lead time for parts I would be concerned with after Pontiac is officially dead is body parts for the car if you need them but overall should not be hard to find. My insurance did go up from my VW Passat that I traded in by $2.17 per month. To me it was worth it price.

Sweet deal! I used my $5k GM Card cash to buy a Saturn Astra for my daughter, but if they send me another $5k offer, that's going for a G8...

So... I just saw the 2009 G8 today on my 1st day out looking for a new car (replacing my 2000 Accord) and am considering the V6 version as high performance sport driving is not a priority for me. My main concern is future parts and service given that the Pontiac line is being dropped. (My husband drives a 2007 Solstice). Are there concerns out there amongst you current G8 owners about future parts/service??? Do any of you have the V6 version and how do you like it??? Thanks!">

I am on the same boat as wux and kathyc2. My hang up is cash for clunkers. I would not get the loyalty rebate, but this is what I was told on my test drive. More rebates and incentives on G6 then Vibe as Vibes are selling just fine, but there is not any reason to change any incentives as all of these Pontiacs need to go. In fact you will see the '10s(2.4 1SB) now being offered at invoice of 19k where air conditioner is standard. I drove a car with no preferred package, auto, air but with premium wheels and the dealer had the price at 16862 with the loyalty credit built in. Unfortunately, I was told that I would need to add 1k back for the loyalty not applying to me.
