2008 G6 in Ohio
by robertkaleal on Wed Feb 27 18:35:42 PST 2008
Hey! Would it be possible to quote me an approx lease price for a 2008 G6 Base with preferred package, sun and sound package, and XM satellite radio (total MSRP $22,290)? I live in Cuyahoga County, OH (8.5% tax, I believe) and would be indifferent to a 36 or 39 month lease and need 12,000 miles per year. I currently lease a GM vehicle and would retain that lease when I got this vehicle. I saw above that the rate was 3% but I wasn't sure that was for Ohio and I wasn't sure if the 56% residual quoted above was correct or not. I am also unsure of total incentives available. Thanks much
Build date is wrong...

since the last car was built on June 6, 2006 and had an 838xxx VIN. Yours is probably right around the time that the blown strut issue was discovered, but the best way to determine is to have any GM dealer pull a GMVIS report on your car. The GMVIS report shows the ordering dealer and any warranty and service work that was done on the car - if yours is susceptible to the strut issue, it will have a GM program listed - if you see that mentioned, but no strut replacements under warranty, the work hasn't been done. Oh yeah, the GMVIS also shows the "build date" but, for our GTO's, this is NOT the date the car was assembled in Australia, but instead the date the spoiler was installed when the car got off the boat in California... GM put a ton of field reps into GTO's in July-August-September of 2006... those cars got between 2k and 6k miles on them, and were subsequently sold in a GM dealer-only auction... your car might be one of those, based upon its mileage. GMVIS is also useful because it will show you if the car was administratively bought back for any reason (someone in Waco, TX ended up with my first :lemon: GTO, unfortunately for them...)
Just paid and enjoying

I bought new manual Torrid Red, black interior, 18 inch painted wheels 06 GTO. I traded my 2006 Pontiac Solstice. Funny about all of this, The GTO I bought was a spur of the moment thing and all of you would be, I'm sure thinking what an idiot! I paid 31,095.00. I was just checking on the status of a new 07 Solstice due out for delivery in spring of 07 at my local pontiac dealship one night. My husband was out of state when I went to the dealership to ask questions about trading mine in now and putting deposit down on new 07 GXP solstice. While waiting I noticed the red GTO that had been there all summer was still there. I said to myself "of course that huge over priced Neon thing was still here", anyway as I spoke to my husband about the "Deal" with the Solstice, I mentioned how the Big ugly GTO was still there. He said if I was looking for a more powerful Solstice I should at least test drive the ugly GTO while I was there. They pushed it out of the showroom and hooked it up to a battery charger and started it up, wow! I drove it and that was it! We are having a blast and if I paid too much, oh well, lifes to short. I would have preferred all black and swore I would never own a red car, but that went to the way side too. I'm blinded by the power and speed this sleeper puts out!Yeah the dealer was waiting for someone like us. He would not budge on price and my husband was determined to comed home to it. Just go for it and drive! :P

I just got rid of my M45, a couple of months ago. Albeit that it was the older version, but it still had the same engine and drivetrain. The engine was a dog, for torque, next to the GXP. The best I could get in the 1/4 was 14.7 @ 95, even on nice cool days. I had to get it serviced/repaired over 20 times, in three years. This was for work and not oil changes either. They fought tooth and nail with me over brakes that chattered, grabbed, and shook the car violently. Not to mention two transmissions, and a tire pressure monitor that NEVER worked. Oh yeah, and the stereo and amp I had to add to get some bass too. The only things that I actually liked about it was the good mileage, windows down with key fob, and the cooled seats. The newer M45s have more convieniences, but I'll deal with it. I LOVE the GXP compared to the M45.
