This my be a little late, but I don't usually hang out here... Others have commented on this and complained bitterly about the not having the factory cross bars.... I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, I've never used mine; when I put stuff up there, I use Yakima "Railriders", which are pretty decent, universal-fit adapters that attach solid round cross bars to the factory rack. That'll haul anything that ISN'T a 17-foot canoe, and costs $150 or so. Not exactly cheap, but compared to a $17k+ car... But I usually just use one pair of those as a (very good) anchor for the rear, and a pair of Q towers for the front. I've been known to haul fairly serious weights hundreds of miles in 50+ mph cross winds. Here's a picture of what some of that looks like... the problem with the old Q towers has been solved by Yakima sending me a new set for free... http://www.msu.edu/~steine13/vibe.html The factory cross bars are junk anyway. -Mathias
Vibe in MI

Wife ran into a deer on the freeway; she's ok, van in the shop at least 4 weeks. So I went out and bought a Vibe in 30 minutes: Base 5sp, silver, monotone, pwr pack. Told the saleslady exactly what pickle I was in and that I had a GM Card with some money on it. She used a program that I'd never heard of: "In The Driveway", which gives non-eligible consumers the "supplier" discount. Still let me use the Card. Price was invoice or less: Sticker $18,120 paid $17,085. No DOC fee, either. $1,500 rebate. $2,600 GM Card rebate -> $14k out-the-door. Great little car, great price, great sales experience. No haggling, no stress, never even met Mr. F&I. I'm sure last of the month helped. -Mathias "real men drive stick"
