Bait & Switch, Called Me Out of the Blue with False Offer

Bait and switch, called a training moment. In writing offer and pursued for over a month asking me to trade in a vehicle I had no interest in trading in. Not in the market, not seeking anything. Called from the dealership asking to buy my trade for a $7k difference for new vehicle. Came in and they came back with your vehicle is in amazing condition but we're $10k apart. Apologies we need to train more not to give numbers unseen, although I clairified 3 times and in writing before driving over an hour to the dealership, waiting 2.5 hrs for numbers! Terrible experience that the dealership initiated and pursued me with falsified data and information. The definition of bait and switch. I worked for a dealership for 5 years and never experienced this happening to a customer and never made a falsified offer. A gift card of $100 to cover gas, the sales manager telling me to go out to dinner to have drinks and try to forget this ever happened. Wow. Don't come here and even if it's in writing, don't trust they'll honor their word or offer. Thanks RJ, but I'm sure I'll remember. One good experience tells 5 people, one bad experience tells 10 or more. I had told several people over the last month or so about this offer and who it was with, I'll be sure to update them, perhaps over drinks with my gift card, reminiscing.

Does not honor warranty. Management refused to respond

I took my 2015 CX5 for its 28K service. The car was actually less than 28K and under full warranty. They told me that my brakes needed replaced because they were rusted and said the warranty wouldn't cover me because I had lived near the ocean. Now.... I am 60 years old, drove the car to the store and back and for errands. It was parked in a dry location. NEVER have I had a brake job at 28K or been told my warranty didn't count because I lived on the coast! Seriously? Even though the Mazda warranty shows no such exclusion, they refused to fix it without me paying $469.95! Additionally, all attempts to resolve this with management by email, phone, and in person have resulted in no response from anyone. Promises of callbacks have not happened. Ignoring their customers is their idea of resolution. Do not take your vehicle to Royal Moore for service! I also recommend that you do not purchase a vehicle from people who obviously don't believe in customer service or satisfaction.

Horrible customer service

I went there to try to find my first car and I found a mazda 3i touring hatchback that I really liked. It was out of my price range for what I was already preapproved for so they tried finding me a different loan. It was already getting late on a Saturday and they told us they wouldn't expect an answer until Monday since banks were starting to close. So they told us they'd call on Monday to update us on what was going on. We left a $500 deposit so it wouldn't be sold while we waited for an answer. Tuesday came around and we haven't heard from them. On Thursday we gave them a call to see what was going on, the sales man we talked to wouldn't answer the phone or respond to our messages. At this point we had found another car at a different dealership so we just wanted our refund back. (Toyota of Corvallis, they were extremely helpful would definitely recommend rather than this place.) We called on different occasions and left our name and number with different people, including a manager, and no one ever called us back. It wasn't until this week that the salesman finally called back to say we couldn't get the loan. [non-permissible content removed] we had figured that out when they didn't call on Monday or any other day that week. When the finance guy we spoke with called, I think his name was Patrick, he was extremely rude and was being very sarcastic. We just wanted to get our refund in a timely manner but I guess that's too difficult for them to do. If I could give zero stars I would, do not waste your time and money here.

Excellent experience with Ed May

I worked with Ed May who made my first car purchase in a decade painless, fun and totally enjoyable. On my first visit, I specifically made it clear that I was "shopping" - Ed was totally cool with it and gave me their sales proposal to take home so that I could compare them against other dealerships. He personally guaranteed that he would beat the best offer I received from other dealerships and that's exactly what happened. I drove my new SUV home a happy man. . I strongly recommend you seek him out - he's articulate, knowledgeable (very), humble, easygoing and not at all pushy. A lot has changed in ten years and this dealership stepped up to meet the challenges of modern day car shopping, most of which is now done online.

Great experience

Pre-negotiated a price on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 grand touring with Ed. Went in, test drove the vehicle, and got an even better rate than we had discussed via email. Ed was a delight to deal with - very bright, kind, and honest guy. So happy to have finally had a dealership experience that did make me feel like I needed a shower afterward. Thanks, guys!

Great Experience

Great dealership. Friendly staff and willing to work with you. Sold me a Mazda 6 for a great price. Drove over 200 miles & would buy from them again. I quoted a reasonable price, they looked it over and accepted. Simple and easy with no hassle.

Excellent service

I have been taking both of our Mazdas to Royal Moore since we have owned them (bought one there, the other was used). They have been fair on pricing, done great work, and within the time that was quoted. I have been going here for over 6 years now, and when it's time to get another car, I will do whatever I can to shop here again!

could not be better

Purchased a 2015 CX-5. I had negotiated price thru email with Ed. We went in, test-drove the car, made the purchase per negotiated price. No pressure, no trick. I can't believe car-buying can go such smoothly! Ed was truly great to work beyond my expectation. Financial manager is also easy to work with. No pressure. .not a peep! He'd already been informed. The whole purchase process took less than 2 hrs. Highly recommended.

No Pressure Sales Experience Beginning to End with Henry Thomassians

So surprised to have a car purchase go smoothly! Henry T., the Internet Fleet Manager, of Royal Moore Mazda in Hillsboro was truly great to work with from email communications, to the appointment, and on. Even when it was time to work with the business manager to sign papers—where I expected to have pressure for the warranty. . .not a peep! He'd already been informed by Henry that I did not want it. I felt like I could get up and walk away at any time to think about the purchase some more. Pleasantly surprised. (Had a very different experience with hand offs and 5 follow up phone calls after just a test drive at Herzog!).

I checked prices with all the local mazda stores and everyone had about the same thing, my real complaint was it was like pulling teeth to get a price from them. I kept getting evasive emails to come in, well I did and they had a "market adjustment" sticker on their cars for $2k over the sticker price. The sales guy who helped me was nice but really didn't seem to know much about the cars. I ended up at another mazda store and when I went home I finally got my low price from them, too little too late. It was close to what most the dealers seem to be selling them for but a little too late. Need to work on being more straight forward.

Amazing experience at Royal Moore for my CX-7

I was pleasantly surprised about how simple getting my new Mazda CX-7 was at Royal Moore Mazda. I had heard horror stories about buying a car and was prepared for the worse. My salesperson, Shane Hollingsworth, was a man of his word and had the car pulled out ahead of time for me when I arrived. The price was exactly what he quoted me and I was out of there within an hour after deciding I wanted it. I have recommended people to Shane and he has always treated my friends the same way I was treated. It was an Amazing experience!

Great Place to do Business

Buying my Miata at Royal Moore was an awesome experience. Did it all online until I went to pick up my car. Great price, didn't try to change it when I got there. Nice people there. It was a very positive experience.
