I went into Jack Scoville just as I would any other dealership, wearing full battle armor! Surprisingly enough, battle armor wasn't needed.My girlfriend and I went in to look at a used 2008 VW Rabbit (never owned but since it is 2010 they couldn't sell it as new). I was a day late and a dollar short getting into the dealership to look at this car but was introduced to a 2009 VW Rabbit, priced about $3,500 above what the car I was there to see was priced. I said this price is a little rich for my blood especially since I can get a 2010 for nearly the same price. I was assured the asking price would be much lower as they were trying to move their 2009 inventory to make space for 2010 models. They ended dropping the price right in range of the 2008 VW Rabbit I missed, without haggling for the price. I was very happy with the price offered as it was the exact invoice/market price listed on many internet sites, and over $1000 less than the lowest MSRP. The bottom-line is I spent many hours researching cars and prices, had a ton of material printed to prove market/invoice price so that I would not have to pay more than true market value; but this was completely unnecessary when shopping at Jack Scoville. Jack Scoville has given me a new impression of car dealerships and I could not be more happy with the purchase I made. As for financing Jack Scoville has up to 12 lenders to choose from so they can try their damnedest to get you in a car. My girlfriend's credit is pretty terrible (a lack of credit rather than bad credit, though they are the same thing in the credit world), this made our interest rate about 11.5% (harsh, but not Jack Scoville's fault). This was the best they could find through OSU Federal CU but we were informed that after 1 year of perfect payments OSU FCU would refinance for 5.99% (much better). I will write a service dept. and reliability review in a year or two, after I have taken the car in for scheduled maintenance (3yr/36,000mi bumper-to-bumper, and 6yr/60,000mi powertrain).
