The easiest car-buying experience I've ever hadWritten by alan_ohio on 07/15/11 08:24:53 AM PDT Go back to Sales reviews

I chose to buy a new Fit base w/auto based on its reviews and started shopping. I quickly learned that the base model is in short supply due to the effects of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan. I test drove a Fit sport auto at a dealer that participated in my credit union's buying program. They offered me a Fit at msrp (some deal!) and negotiated down to the Edmunds TMV. But they didn't have one in stock and said they couldn't trade for one. They tried to sell me a Fit Sport and an Insight. Dealer 2, located through AAA's on-line program, offered me a Fit base at a great price, but couldn't get one until September. My wife found Lindsay Honda on-line. They offered a great price, well below the TMV, and had a car in stock. Unfortunately, it sold before I got there (they called me on my cell and saved me trip). I put down a deposit on another, and the salesman kept me updated on its scheduled arrival. He e-mailed me a detailed quote, and rescheduled a doctor's appointment so he could be there at my convenience (he also offered to deliver the car to me). My wife and I arrived, test-drove the car, wrote a check, filled out the paperwork and drove home. There was no negotiation, no pressure to add accessories, dealer options, or an extended warranty. This is the easiest car-buying experience I've ever had.
