Southern States Subaru
So I stopped in here one day without my fiance. I have done a TON of research and knew that I wanted to buy a 6cly Outback. I hate the 4cly because it has the CVT transmission and it is NOT the car I want. I asked the salesman- "do you have any 6cly on the lot today" he said "oh honey, you don't want a 6cly, you want a 4cyl, it will save you on gas". I responded: "no, I know that I want a 6, I have driven them both. I do not like the CVT transmission in the 4". He said, "there is really no difference in the 4cyl and the 6cly". I said ok and I left. Went to Johnson Subaru of Cary, and couldn't be happier. No one there called me honey and no one told me that there was no difference between a 4cly and 6cyl (which if you drive them you will feel and hear the difference).
Pardon me for hijacking your thread. Glad you got what you wanted and needed. Sad that sales people are driven by the lot inventory instead of what the individual customer wants or needs. These days, why even have inventory? A demo of each model on the lot should suffice. Then just simply configure and order from the factory. On that note, make my Outback silver, premium trim, 6spd manual, 4 cylinder engine ;o)
