What a rip-off dealership!!!! Last week I noticed my serpentine belt on my 7.3 liter diesel pickup had frayed and was starting to make funny noises. As I had a trip planned for the weekend, I took my truck to the local Ford dealer, Sanders Ford in Jacksonville, NC. They had my truck two days and told me that it was just an old belt and needed replaceed, so I paid them the 170 dollars. I loaded up my pickup and started on my trip. After less than 150 miles (NC - SC border), the brand new serpentine belt broke, my waterpump blew up and stranded me at the SC welcome center. I spent 7 hours waiting for a friend to come pick me up and then had to spend all day Sunday driving back down and getting all of my gear out of the truck before it was stolen. After a wasted weekend, I took off from work Monday and then went to Sanders Ford and told them what happened. Initially they said they would repair it until they found out it was in SC. Once they knew that, suddenly they decided that they would only give me a new 91 dollar belt and the rest was my problem. What a joke. The service manager was a [violative content deleted] and the general manager skipped out suddenly when I asked to talk to him. This is the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. I have already called Ford National Headquarters, but they say they can't help because it is independently owned. After 30 years of Fords, I will never own another one and recommend that no one take their car to this [violative content deleted]. They stink at mechanical work and their customer service is the worst I have ever encountered!!!!!
