Sky high prices and bad service

Visited 3 times before someone came out and asked if I needed help. They gave me the initial price/ payments on a Jeep that was almost 3 times higher than anywhere else. I told them it was a terrible deal, but they would not Negotiate on that price at all. I told them I was going to go to a competitor and they said okay and just let me walk out. It seemed like they weren’t interested in selling cars at all. They didn’t try to work with me, meet me on price or payments, didn’t even ask me to come back once I got outside. It was really strange, most dealerships will do whatever they can, within reason, to get you to buy a car. This dealership seemed like they couldn’t care less. There were no other customers in there, I was the only one. I think it’s because they will get someone to pay the ripoff price they gave me. I was informed and knew it was a terrible deal, but I bet some people will pay it because they haven’t done their homework. Watch out for Austin. Watch out for their rip off prices.

A Wonderful Experience!

We just purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Gastonia Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram and had the most amazing experience from the moment we stepped onto the lot. We happened to be "that family" that comes in to look at a car at closing time and both Mike and Jason took the time to help us even past closing time. They answered our questions with patience and treated us like 9 a.m. customers (rather than last minute, closing time customers). After going home to think over our possible purchase, my husband spoke to Jason on the phone about pricing. He was straightforward, reasonable and very transparent - which we appreciated so much! When test driving the car with Mike, the sales associate, he took time with us, shared his personal experiences and allowed us the time we needed to test the car on the interstate and in the city... not once but twice (one time for me and one time for my husband) since we had our kiddos with us. This was the easiest car buying experience we have ever had! Jason and Mike have continued to go above and beyond our expectations as we have called back with questions about our purchase. These guys are top-notch! We got a fabulous deal on our new car and we hope to do business with them again sometime. We highly recommend that you ask for Jason and Mike at Gastonia Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram!!

Never Again!

I would never return to this dealership and I would tell people if they value their money to stay away at all cost. Thought I was gonna make a deal on the 2013 White Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with 45,000 miles on it. While test driving the brakes had a shake and vibration when applied among a few other issues. We even took it to our own ASE certified mechanic and he confirmed the brake issue. After three test drives the salesman became irritated because he finally felt the shake after trying to cover it up by holding the steering wheel tighter. The car still shook. All I wanted was for them to resurface the front rotors to fix the vibration in the front wheel and I would take the car. The salesman then told us that we should just fix the rotors ourselves after we bought the car. I'm sorry but no one should have to put their vehicle in the shop the day they buy it and pay for it themselves, new or pre-owned. That's not how it works. So I went and told the manager about the salesman's attitude and that how he said we should fix the car ourselves. I asked him if he was willing to loose a sale over resurfacing front rotors to give the customer piece of mind about buying the jeep. The manager then became confrontational telling me how they have gave and gave and that I haven't gave anything towards the deal, that they shouldn't have to fix a broke car in order to sell it to a customer. It's not my job to compromise on a car deal. I'm not the one trying to sale a vehicle. That was all I needed to know and I said well you just lost this sale and I will never do business with Gastonia Dodge and I will warn everyone I know about them. My biggest concern is if the vehicle passed their certified pre- owned inspection and had brake issues along with other problems, then there is a bigger problem at hand and someone is not doing their job, letting vehicles with issues be sold. Just remember they lost a sale over resurfaced rotors, not new ones or even brake pads. Just resurfaced ones to give me piece of mind. To them you're the problem and they are doing you a favor by letting you buy from them. No thank you. I or anyone else shouldn't have to risk getting into a confrontation and being talked down to because we call you on your lies. Never again and I will be notifying corporate headquarters of the altercation.

Best Car Buying Expereince in 15 years!

I have purchased allot of cars over the past 15 years and have had some good and some not so good car buying experiences. I reached out to Gastonia Dodge with interest in a 392 Charger they had on the lot and spoke to Mr. Aaron Lewis - New Car Salesman. He answered every single phone call, text, and made each of my request feel like it was his top priority over the course of 3 days. When it came time to actually go to the Dealership and get my trade in appraised Aaron and the Team were very quick and extremely fair with the overall deal that was made. Aaron did an amazing job throughout the entire process and I will definitely reach out to him and this Dealership for all of my new car purchases. This was by far the best car buying experience I have had over the past 15 years and that includes about 10 different vehicles, motorcycles, and a few boats. Customer Relationship

First of all I would like to recognize Gerald for fantastic customer service. I have contacted this dealership three time since last Saturday about purchasing a used vehicle on the lot, each time I was helped either on the phone or in person by sales men with great customer service skills until Jason made his presence known. He introduced himself as the manager, had no interest in working with me on the price of a vehicle and basically ruined sales for all three of the salesmen that helped me. Finally today after calling and negotiating the price with Gerald and agreeing on the price he quoted me, Jason called me back to question me asking, "where did you come up with that number?" I understand completely that the dealership will make money off of every car on the lot but that doesn't mean you don't negotiate prices with potential customers. I asked Jason how he expects to create customer relations with the attitude he has, his response was "I'm getting off of the phone to help another customer." Also on the phone today he told me the best he could do was 15,000 but it would be 16,400 out the door which is no negotiating on the lot price.In my opinion, a dealerships main goal should be to create customer relations, not turn them away. Me, as a potential customer should be able to purchase a vehicle from the dealership and want to refer everyone I know and come back to that dealership to purchase any vehicle in the future. I am very disappointed in Jason's attitude. Every time I have interacted with him, I have left the interaction feeling like he was only in the deal to make as much as possible. As I stated before, I should walk away from the dealership telling all of my family and friends how great this place is, not how terrible my experience was with the "manager".

Hands down worst experience

Initially, the staff presented as being very professional and accommodating. I wasn't in dire need of a vehicle but looking to see what my options would be. I went in with the intentions of trying to buy a used jeep Cherokee latitude and was told this would not be possible due to the monthly payment being too high. At this time they suggested a new 2015 jeep renegade that I was told would be within my budget. I reviewed numbers with Lance who gave me a monthly payment that I agreed upon. I made it very clear to these individuals I was a single mother and didn't want to exceed my budget anymore than what was agreed on at that time. When signing the contract I expressed concern to Aaron, that the information was being reviewed very quickly and was I assured it was the same information that was previously discussed. I reluctantly completed the paper work and walked out with keys in hand. It wasn't until a few weeks later when I went to find out who the loan was through so that I could make an early payment (as suggested by lance) that I saw my monthly payment was 100 dollars more than what I was told. With further review I noticed "optional" add ons that had never been brought to my attention, had been added on to my contract. On the contract I found that my car went from being 22k (in comparison to the 17k for similar models at other dealers in that area) to 27k. I took the contract back to the dealership where I was told the only thing I could do was remove the optional extended warranty that was slipped in to the contract without my knowledge. At this point I would wait 2-4 weeks to receive the new contract in the mail. I was encouraged to get an account with a credit union who were "more aggressive with car loans" then to take the new contract up to them to see if they would buy out the existing loan so that I COULD POSSIBLY receive a lower interest rate and monthly payment. They informed me there was nothing more that they could do to assist me at this time and left me with no options and a monthly payment that was never agreed on. Not to mention the locks on the vehicle did not work and I am having to wait 2 weeks to get this issues looked at. I was lied to and manipulated. Completely taken advantage of when they were fully aware of my position. I got the wool pulled over my eyes and then was left to fend for myself. I was excited about this process as it was the first time I had gone through this process alone as a young, single mother. I now understand why I was encouraged to bring someone with me during this process as I was misled. Hands down the worst experience ever. I'm disgusted with the entire process and the deception and corruption that occurred at this location. Would not have given a star at all had it not been required.

Great People Great Service

I came to Gastonia CDJR looking to buy my first car after years of leasing was no longer practical for mileage reasons. I had seen a used vehicle at this dealership online that I wanted to test drive. However I was dreading the process...Dreading having to deal with sleazy sales reps with poor attitudes, trying to talk me into cars I didn't want....as was the experience I'd had at all other dealerships. I quickly realized, this was NOT a place I'd have to deal with those anxieties. My sales rep, Jimmy Grant, was beyond friendly. He made the entire process enjoyable. He went above and beyond. No one tried to talk me into a brand new vehicle or a vehicle they're dealership specializes in. They just showed me what I wanted to see. They gave me time to make my own decisions, didn't rush me into anything. They are a dealership of good ole boys trying to sell people something they need. I have no doubt, the next time I need a vehicle, I will go to them and I will refer all my friends there.

Fast Fast Fast

My husband and I only had 2 hours free to buy a car. Rod made sure we were in and out really fast. I felt negotiations could have been better, but in the end I am extremely satisfied with my experience. They listened to what we needed and got it done.

Excellent Process

Excellent dealership. I have purchased cars before and although this was my first used car purchase, I have never had a more professional and uneventful purchase experience as I had with McKenney Dodge Chrysler Jeep. On other occasions I have walked in to a dealership and instantly feel that I was in for a battle over the car I wanted for the price I wanted. Always been a hassle and even had to have walked out of the dealership to get what I want. In this instance I was looking to add a second car as my family is starting to grow and was just looking to for a simple used two door car @ a good price. After talking to the folks @ McKenney, I decided on an Acura RSX. After doing some research I made an offer and it was accepted. I requested for all the documents to be sent to me finalizing the purchase price and to my surprise all was faxed to me within the hour. The rest of the deal went just as smoothed. I have never had a more pleasant and professional car sale as I have had with McKenney and this will not be the last. Mike.P from N.J.
