Got sold a faulty car

I purchased a 2012 Subaru Legacy from Sunshine on April 22, 2019. All seemed well for the first 1100 miles. After that I had flashing lights on my dash. I notified the dealership and scheduled a service. Took the car and was told that they cannot go into the electronics of the car because they know nothing about Subaru's. First of all why sale cars that you are not certified to work on or have no knowledge of. I was told that my injectors needed cleaned, well I told them to proceed. May I remind you that I told them the lights have went off and on three times and I have told them twice at this point. Take the car home and a week later the lights are back on, two days later the temperature light is flashing which means the car is close to overheating. I get the car home and check under the hood and the service department didn't even put my overflow tank cap back on!! So now my car is at risk of over heating because the service department lost my cap. Also, the main person I dealt with in the service department was Neil and he was extremely rude. They way he talks to people is not professional and degrading. As if the common person is dumb. Another problem I have had is that on my loan app, the amount financed for is $1,500 MORE than what the car cost!!!!!!!!!! I have called multiple times and every time I get the answer that the financial person I need to talk to is not in the office. This was my first car purchase from a dealer and it has been the absolute WORST experience of my life!!!!!!! I will never purchase from this dealer ever again!!!!! Also, this has all happened within 5 weeks, I haven't even paid my first payment yet. This dealership does not stand behind their cars at all.

Travelled Extra Miles to Buy at this Dealership

We live 6 miles from a Chevrolet Dealer and after going there several times, we felt we needed to find another place. Sunshine came up in an internet search for a Colorado. After professional and realistic negotiations, we came to an agreement on a very fair price. The process was jovial and upfront unlike other places we tried. We mainly dealt with Robert R who had a great sense of humor and didn't push any of the typical sales pitches. We bought and left very satisfied with the purchase. Good to deal with people like Robert, Brandon and the others! Thanks guys!

They turned a stressful situation into a nightmare!

I recently purchased a 2017 Volt from Sunshine Chevrolet in Arden, NC. I love the Volt but these were the most incompetent and/or dishonest people I have ever dealt with. After giving me a written and confirmed price on the vehicle, giving them a down payment, having my loan approved, and obtaining insurance on the vehicle, they refused to honor the price they had given me when I went to pick up the Volt. The finance manage would insult the integrity of a ten year old and used ever tactic available to add on the the price of the vehicle. they lied about the dealership fees, the interest rates they would get me, and conveniently added eight hundred dollars to my sales taxes. It took me over six weeks to get this money refunded and then they stole fifty more dollars from my refund. Do not let this beautiful, well stocked dealership fool you. You will likely feel like you are dealing with a low rent, back street, used car salesman once you commit to buy. To many other dealerships in the area to deal with this “Mickey Mouse” outfit. I have proof in writing of everything I have stated her. For my part Sunshine can [non-permissible content removed].

NO OTHER DEALER COMPARES

I bought a used 09 Traverse from Robert Rosser at Sunshine Chevy. He was the best salesman that i have ever delt with and I tradE cars A LOT. First off they offered me 2k more for my trade than any other dealership and my car was priced extremely well for the mileage and condition of my car. So I had had my car for 4 months and the transmission started acting up. I take it to sunshine Chevy and luckily it was an issue that GM was aware of and was covered under an extended warranty. After having my car back for less than a week we decide to take a beach trip. As we get on the interstate my cars transmission starts slipping and luckily it happens as were passing the exit for Sunshine Chevy. We take it by there and David Pressley checks it out and tells us that we cannot take the car and that he has a rental car available but its a smaller SUV. We try to put our suitcases in the SUV and no go. So I tell David it won't work he says well give me a minute to see what I can do. He comes back and says I think we can get you an equinox but he has to go and get it from another place. About 30 mins go by and he pulls up in a brand new 2016 traverse. This was by far the best service I have ever had ANYWHERE. I will never go to another dealship if I can help it.

The Sunshine Service Department performed another oil/filter change, plus tire rotation on my Malibu. As always, the price was right and the work was done to perfection. In addition, the shop found the time to perform my last minute request for my annual vehicle inspection. All of this and at a fair price. As usual, Sunshine Service continues to make me their #1 Customer. I said it before and I'll say it again; I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Excellent Buying Experience

I searched online for an SUV for my parents and found an 05 Equinox at Sunshine. I chatted with an online sales person for quite awhile.(That was the 1st time doing that with a car dealership). She was very helpful and informative. We went there to look at the car and it was exactly as described. The whole experience took a little longer than I expected but was totally understandable. They did the deal and took my parents car on trade without it being there. They had not renewed the registration as my mother had pretty much stopped driving other than the grocery store down the road. When the deal was done we left and they delivered the Equinox to our house and took their trade in with them. I received several emails from all involved with the deal plus and it was all positive. My experience there was great and I will most likely go there for my next purchase. Almost everyone has different experiences and opinions about car dealerships they have dealt with. As long as I am treated fairly at a dealership I will continue to do business with them. I have had my share of bad experiences and those businesses were taken off my return list. As far as I'm concerned I had good luck there. And my parents are very happy with their purchase.

BEWARE! TERRIBLE DEARLERSHIP

Listed a truck for sale and spoke to my Dad at length about the quality of the truck. Even told my Dad the truck had a hitch on it since my Dad was buying the truck to pull a boat with. My Dad called several times and they had a firm sale and trade in agreed on. My Dad traveled 2 hours to pick up the truck. The truck had not been cleaned at all, nasty dirty straight from auction. No hitch. The saleman knew my Dad would be there at 9am with the money to pick up the truck. The truck was nothing like described. Shabby dealership. Shabby salesperson. I would not recommend based on our experience.

Steer Clear of this unethical dealer

Classic "bait and switch" They gave me the best price I had seen on a brand new 2014 Silverado. I told them that if they could sell me the truck they had spec'd out for me for that price and include running board then we would have a deal. The manager, Ken gave me the print out and we shook on it. Took a few days to come in and I was in a hurry and didn't look over the truck as well as I should have. When I got home the next day and looked it over I realized that not only was there features missing, features that I paid extra for, but it was an entirely different truck. the VIN# was wrong. The all terrain tires that I paid an additional $350, the LED lights in the bed $60 (but cost more to add later) and the Transmission cooler are not on my truck. When I confronted them they acted like they would make these things right and it was an honest mistake. FInally I had an appointment to get these things added in the service department as well as a front wheel alignment. When I picked up the truck the next day I learned the salesman told the service department not to put the transmission cooler on, telling him it was already installed (its not) told me the tires cost way more than the $350 they charged me and they are not going to change the tires and didn't even offer the $350 refund and then said the LED lights are not available. (LIE) First I thought the sales manager Kenneth was dishonest and the salesman Ed was a good guy. After I learned Ed directed the service department to lie I realize he is also dishonest. Bottom line: these people make deals too good to be true and then hope the buyers never catch on that they didn't get what they paid for. Then they lie to get out of that if they get caught. They do not know their product and its one lie after another. DO yourself a favor and pass this dealership by. If the deal seems too good to be true then it probably is and make sure you look that vehicle over for hours before you sign the paperwork. I have given them plenty of time to do the right thing and delayed this review in hopes that it was an honest mistake and holding hope that they are good people. WRONG! Watch out dealing with this bunch! Also, I bought a new Camry for the wife (somewhere else) and went to the same credit union Sunshine hooked me up with. I then learned that they lied telling them I could get the rate somewhere else and they even had a pre approval letter with a lower rate from someone else in their file. Did they falsify that because I certainly didn't apply elsewhere and bring them a letter?

Best service ever

My husband and myself have bought our second car from Sunshine Chevrolet and are extremely happy with our vehicle. The staff and especially Pam and Spencer were very helpful. They worked very hard on helping us get approved and get the car that we was happy with. We will be going back and buying our next car here. We enjoy having Sunshine handly all of our vehicle needs. We have told all of our friends and family that if they are looking to buy a vehicle that this is the place to go. Thank You So Much, Sunshine Chevrolet!!!

DO NOT Deal with Sunshine Chevy in Arden/Fletcher

I ode with a friend of mine to Sunshine Chevy to consider purachsing a used car. After talking to the sales person, and signing a document giving them permission to run a credit history, she changed her mind and told them not to run the credit history and took the signed documents with her. We went to another dealership and she did decide to buy a car from them. Well the dealership told her Sunshine Chevy had alread run a credit check on her, even though she told them not to. So we went back to Sunshine Chevy and the used car manager, David to question him how he ran the credt check without written permission. He showed us copies of documents from other customers permissions but not my friends. At that point shee showed them that we actually had the permissions becasue she had told the salesman NOT to run a credit history. She asked for the owners phone number so she could call him Monday. When she called, he told her she had taken the documents off the salesman's desk when we returned, which was not true. He sided with the used car manager and did not offer an apology or or offer to remove the inquiry from her records. At Sunshine Chevy, the customer is NEVER right. Unless you want to be treated like you are wrong and don't know the law, you should steer way clear of this horrible dealership.

Great Service and Friendly Staff

I was in the market for a Dodge Nitro. After being given a bad deal on the first I found, I rode out to Sunshine Chevrolet to check out a used Nitro they had. Kenny, my salesman, was an awesome guy. He was friendly, down to earth and straight forward with me. He stood by everything he told me and helped me get what I wanted at a price I could afford. He even stayed two hours past closing time just to shake my hand and say thanks. The whole staff were fantastic and I couldn't have asked for a better car buying experience. I'm loving my Dodge Nitro and want to thank everyone for their help at Sunshine Chevrolet!!

Small Dealership with Outstanding Team

I also researched vehicles and dealerships on the internet prior to my purchase. Even though the dealership was 45 miles from our home, the website displayed the discount offered online...no haggling, so I knew what my price range would be prior to our arrival. They also had the best selection of the make and model compared to even larger dealerships in the area. My husband and I found the salesman to be friendly and knowledgable...not pushy. Even though I knew the car make and model I wanted to test drive, the salesman took the time to show us specific features...why the car is road quiet, safety mechanisms, options, etc. I knew the model I was looking for, and he did not waste our time with a sales pitch for a higher priced car. We test drove the car I liked best, returned, discussed financing options, filled out the paperwork, and left for a quick lunch while the finance department "ran the numbers." When we returned, the sales manager greeted us as we entered through the door, extending his hand and congratulating us on successfully obtaining financing. He walked us to the showroom and wanted us to see the Simoniz product on a vehicle, letting us know that the young man who would walk us through the remainder of the finance process would explain the benefit of this product. Once again, we felt no high pressure sales. The paperwork takes time, but everything was explained in detail and we finalized with a handshake and returned to the salesman who sold us the car. It did not end with a "Thank-you and good luck." The salesman showed me the specifics of the options and helped me set up the On Star already installed AND free for 1 year. He also showed me how the On Star works and was willing to set up my blue tooth...however, I don't have blue tooth! Then I played with the satellite radio, and he showed me how to program my "favorites." My husband spent time with the sales manager, who showed him around, including the location of the service department. Once again, no pressure...just the statement that they would love if we would have our new vehicle serviced at their dealership, but understood if we wanted to take it somewhere closer to home. By the time I returned home and turned my computer on, we already received an e-mail from the dealership congratulating us again on our purchase. I would recommend this dealership to anyone!

used care purchase

The price on the used vehicle i bought was very good, and the staff was friendly, but two things that happen will prevent me from going back there again and recommending it to anyone: 1. When purchasing the vehicle the extended warranty was added without us asking for it, or telling us that we would be paying for it. We were told we would get warranty but were not told we would have to pay for it. We only noticed it when we were about to sign the paperwork. Not a very straight forward way of doing business. 2. The second one is worse. After only a week i found a problem with the car intermittently not starting, even though they said they did their extensive mechanical inspection. The part to fix it would only cost $250, but they refused to cover it even though it was clearly missed by their mechanics. Plus the problem was discovered within the first week of driving off the lot. So overall they give a good price, but i would not expect to be taken care off if there are problems with the car. Also read over the paperwork you are signing very carefully to make sure nothing was added that you don't want.

Wonderful Experience

With the Internet, information is at a car buyer's fingertips in seconds. I did my research for weeks before purchasing and no other dealer within 200 miles could come close to the price at Sunshine. Even private sellers were charging more than what Sunshine was charging for a similar vehicle. But beyond price, I also enjoyed many other aspects of my buying experience: -I was very surprised with the 3 month/3,000 mile power-train warranty included in the price -The included AutoCheck report, which was easily accessible on their website, helped me buy with confidence. -Not having to haggle over price was refreshing, I knew I was getting a good deal so there was no reason to haggle. -I had the option to test drive the vehicle alone, without a salesperson riding with me. -The vehicle was as described on the Internet -The many photos on their website were helpful -I got a great financing rate from a preferred lender, even in our current recession I drove over two hours each way to purchase my car and I would recommend anyone else make the trip as well.
