Hard to find Loaded SL ?
by get_murano on Thu Jul 03 10:53:33 PDT 2008
Hi All, I have been looking for a loaded SL AWD for almost a month now. I have had some very trying experiences . Here is the config I want - Black with Beige leather SL AWD Premium Technology Moonroof Leather Navigation I live in Richmond,VA and have looked around in a 100 mile radius, but no one seems to have this car on their lot. I suspect that no one is ordering new stuff since their inventory doesn't move. At the same time, they are not flexible on the price. I had a quote from a local Richmond dealer for around 32k. It seemed really good, but they did not have the car so I decided to look aound more. Rosenthal Nissan in Tysns Corner was the worst. The guy was very rude on the phone. He told me he had it on the lot but then refused to give a VIN number, there was also a bunch of guys sniggering in the background. He asked if I needed a good deal and then asked 'Why' very rudely..He said he would give me the last 6 of the VINa nd said it was 123..., which was obviously made up. They said they had an offer going for 5k off sticker. I went there driving all the way up, and they actually gave me a price higher than sticker. The manager there said she was not responsible for what someone told me on the phone!! ( and this was the last day of the month) I went back to my old dealer to put in an order, and guess what -- he now says that 35-36 is his best price. I have called or talked to 8-10 dealers but they all say that they do not have this combo. What is so rare about this car? I think I should perhaps venture out of state? I am not sure how the registration etc. works in that case. I am so frustrated with this whole process that now if someone tells me they got the car, it will be difficult to believe them.. What do you guys think? Appreciate any comments and advice. Do you think its unreasonable to expect to get this for 32-33? Is it ok to ask VIn number, and should I smell something fishy if people refuse a Vin number. Is there a way to authenticate a certain dealer's inventory, to really confirm that they have the car? Thanks !!
Versa Hatchback SL CVT

Hey Hoang, good job getting that price. Here's my price breakdown to help with the battle. MSRP:________________$15650 Splash Guards:___________$110 Convenience Package:_____$650 Five Piece Floor/Trunk Mat:_$155 Aluminum Kick Plate:______$130 Rear Roof Spoiler:_________$250 Total:_________________$17570 Price directly from my "Virginia Buyers Order-MAFD" form: Price with delivery:______$16884.23 Processing Fee:__________$499.00 3% VA Title Tax:__________$521.50 Dealer's Tax:______________$33.77 Filing Fee:________________$10.00 Licence&Title Fee:_________$51.50 Total Delivered Price:____$18000.00 MFG Rebate:___________$1500.00 OTD Price:_______$16500.00 Here's what happened. I came into the dealership and said,"I want a Versa HB SL for $16500 OTD." I got what I wanted so I can't really complain. This is during the Memorial Holiday Sale. So far, I love the car. It's onyx blue with beige interior. It had about 16 miles on the odometer. Feels very upscale for an "econo-class" car. I chose the Versa after test driving three different versions (M,A,Sports Auto with paddle shifter) of the Honda Fit. I found the Fit nimble, but has too much of an "econo-car" feel to it. Plus the CVT and the Inteligent Key a couple of the many awesome "upscale" things that I appreciate every time I drive my Versa.
Is this a good price for a base NAH 2008?
by div_0305 on Sun May 25 13:08:35 PDT 2008
It has the expected, but useless floormats--I always buy non-cloth ones as they're better suited for rain/snow/mud. The price w/ the Memorial Day cash and Mfr. 1250 rebate is coming to 23800. This is in NJ. The only addition would be a $169 doc fee, plus my tax and tags for state of VA. The dealer's invoice price is about $600 more than Edmunds shows (including the freight/delivery). They said they are not artificially marking up the invoice and could not understand why Edmunds invoice list is so much lower. Thanks for any tips/guidance on whether this is a good price and if I should look elsewhere. NJ is the closest for me to drive to from VA, but for significantly more savings I'd drive further. I should add that they are giving me a decent price on my trade-in (theoretically of course b/c they cannot make a firm offer until they see it IRL).
Altima 2.5 S with CVT

Just bought the 2008 2.5 S Altima with CVT transmission. $23000+ sticker. Paid $18795 and they gave a $1000 more in trade for my truck than anyone else. Does not include taxes and tags. Also got 3.9% financing with Nissan. This was in the Richmond Va area. Salesperson wasn't pushy and let me make up my mind. All in all a good buying experience.

I purchased a 2008 Sentra 2.0S, AT, mud guards, and mats for $15,530, excluding taxes and tags at First Team in Roanoke, VA. I test drove the car several times. On the third visit I told them that I had researched prices on Edmund.com and that I would buy the car if they gave me a fair price without haggling, but that I would walk if their first price wasn't right. They gave me the $15,530 price, I took it, and the deal closed smoothly. I believe that I got a fair and reasonable price, but I wonder - how much do you think that I left on the table by not haggling?
Great Deal On My 2008 Rogue SL AWD
by renogeorge on Thu May 08 19:16:10 PDT 2008
I got a great deal last Friday on my 2008 SL AWD Rogue, with moonroof, floor mats, and more at Pohanka Nissan in Fredericksburg, VA. . I dealt with them by email first and after getting the figures went there from Maryland (thru AAA Buying Service which recommended Pohanka) and the deal and figures were exactly the same as in the email. They were very nice, professional and did everything they could to make me happy. What a great place to deal with and what a great car. I love my Rogue. They also gave me the most $ for my trade in. I tried all of the Nissan dealers in the Baltimore, MD and Hanover, Pa area, but this dealer was the best. I have 400 miles on it so far and I just filled up the gas tank and I computed 25 mpg.
