Re: 2009 Murano LE - Nissan of Chantilly, VA in DC Area [poohsavybear]

I think many of these deals we are reading about happened at the end of last month and at the end of the Nissan Anniversary Sale which ended 3/31. The end of the month is always the best time other than Christmas. A dealer could sell their car and give everything away including the holdback knowing that you couldn't touch the incentives they were going to receive from Nissan for selling a certain number of vehicles. Many in my area, Salt Lake City, UT were offering the 09 Murano under invoice. My final OTD price calculated out to a 3% holdback, but I didn't see the actual invoice, so I am more inclined to believe the 2% holdback as a general rule from a previous post since they were able to see the paperwork. In any case, some people have gotten some great deals and I have learned alot from this forum. The deals are out there, you just have to make them happen and sometimes be a little patient!! :shades:

MSRP= $37,825.00 Invoice= $34,744.00 Holdback= $756.50 Rebate= $1,750.00 Market Support= $635.00 True Invoice(Invoice - Rebate - Holdback - Market Support) $31,602.50 Tax % tags $32,402.50 Tax tags(% x true invoice)+(tags=$100est) 6.00% 100 $2,044.15 low ball(true invoice - 2k + tax)= $31,646.65 Target Price(MSRP - rebate or Sale price - Low ball offer / 2 + low ball offer) $33,860.83 OTD price!!!!!! This is the "target" or "MAXIMUM" top price I would pay for this vehicle and consider it's a FAIR price for the dealer where he can make a few hundred dollars profit but not much. Give him the low ball pricing now and see what he can come up with. Dealer always try to push you into the top tier pricing... Good luck and I believe you make a fine choice with the 08' Pathy!

I believe that's a pretty good price. I just purchased a 2008 LE V6 AWD for $33,700 out the door. [I'm in Oregon, so no sales tax] The $1750 cash back runs to the end of December - so waiting end of month/year would definitely increase your chances for an even lower price.

We're looking at a Black 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE-V6, leather package, premium package, side air bags, and factory DVD. MSRP is $38,130. Local dealer quoted us by e-mail sales price of $32,999 + tax, title, and license. He states this price reflects a $1750 rebate from Nissan. This would be a cash purchase with no financing. Based off of this information, what would be a good offer? Any thoughts on how low dealer might go? Also, any chance the timing of the purchase could affect this....ie, last week of December vs. beginning of January??
2007 Nissan Frontier King Cab SE
by mehulasher on Fri Oct 05 20:39:06 PDT 2007
Bought today at Ken Garff Nissan in Salt Lake City, UT. I thought I negotiated a fair price, but then checked this board and may have paid more then necessary. I'll break it down so others can benefit from my experience. 2007 Nissan Frontier King Cab SE 4x4 v-6 Automatic Black exterior/Tan interior 20 miles on odometer Airbag PKG- side and curtain airbags SE Value PKG- power windows, locks, side mirrors. Cruise, remote entry, in cabin microfilter, alloy wheels, 4wheel limited slip, under-rail bedliner(plastic, not spray on), bed rail caps, floor mats. Tow PKG- Receiver, Hitch ball mount, class 3 hitch ball, 7 pin connector wiring harness. I ran a TMV and Consumer reports and thought offering 24,500 would be fair, and expected to wiggle up a little. I called and said I would buy for 24,500(not including rebate). also said I would pay 149 doc fee max(they ask $299, which is stupid when others ask 150 and CA dealers can only charge $55). They called me back and said 24,500 was a deal but not budging on the doc fee. Since I had decided I can wiggle up a little I agreed to a deal. Also traded in my beat up 97 honda accord v6, was given 2k for trade in which is what I expected due to its condition. Factoring trade in, rebate and all the fees, TTL, I got my new truck out the door for 21,909.48. I was pleased but wonder if I could have got lower. Feel free to tell me if I got jobbed or not. Best of luck to those who are buying, hope this helps. Email me if you are planning to buy in Salt Lake City, I'll refer you and if you buy from Ken Garff then I'll split the 100 bucks with you. Also let you know who was my salesman, he was good to work with. What do you think about the Maintenance+ program? I asked for a quote for the top level and was told $700. Part of me thinks it could be a good value especially if I can find it cheaper. At that level it is at least an oil change for every 3 months/3750 miles for 60months/75k miles. If you say $35 for each oil change, that works out to 700 by itself. Then if you include all the other maintenance items like tire rotations, wipers/filter replacements, etc. it seems to me like a good value. What do you think?
