Re: SF Bay Area- New Versa [hqly2002]

I purchased an 08 Versan SL in the central valley. I was out the door with a little more that $17K (that was with a $500 college grad and some more haggling to get it down). It is loaded except for sunrooof (intellegent key, bluetooth, 6 CD, etc). Don't know what the prices are here in SF but the good deals are out there.
Alabama Area

Does anybody know any dealers in the east-central area of alabama that will deal below invoice on a 2009 Murano (they think $1000 off MSRP is a terrific). Atlanta only 100 miles away. Anyone know a dealer in Georgia that will deal. All I can get is lip service in this part of the country. I have an offer out of Nashville that is below invoice, if the car exists and I can drive 5 hours to take a chance on a trade. I have not seen any posts from the Alabama-Georgia area concerning sub invoice offers/sales. Any Atlanta salesmen out there.
Dealer vs. Carmax

Anyone ever have any experience buying new cars from Carmax? Since this supposed to be a "no-haggle" price, why would I buy from a dealer? Pros - Cons appreciated. (I live in Central Maryland).

I hear you. I'm working on prices for a SL AWD 09. There are so many Nissan's in the central jersey area. I'm trying to figure out which is the best to deal with and of course price is the biggest factor.

You might be better off seeking financing through your own bank or credit union. Currently my credit union is offering 5.75% for 60 months on a new car loan, which beats financing from Nissan by about 1%. Nissan dealers over the weekend told me that the biggest thing killing them right now on moving the new Murano is the lack of discounted financing available from Nissan.

I'm actully bidding on an identical car right now in and around Philly, PA Blue Saph w/ beige Dual moon splash guards crossbars carpet mats Invoice 34,425. I figure the dealer paid appx 33,730 for that car and at 3% profit I'd pay up to 34,750 for the car but have a bid in for 34,350. That is all before destination (745), taxes and tags. I'll let you know how it goes. The 09 is on standard finance rates. Does anyone know what the rate should be for excellent creidt and 48 or 60 mo?
