Re: Lifetime Powertrain Warranty [nancygirl]

It's a car dealership, right? I'm sure it's at least partially sales hype :) I'd ask to see a copy of the warranty and read it carefully to see what maintenance/records you need to keep in order for the warrant to be valid. I've seen some of those things where, if you can't prove you had the dealership change the oil at exactly 3,000 miles every time, the warranty is void. Granted, if they're willing to match the lowest price of any other dealership, then, sure, it's an added value, even if it has a ton of stipulations. I just got my 3.5SL for 26817 before any rebates, which I thought was a decent deal. Hopefully that's helpful.

sweet. Thanks for the info. A got a call from a dealer that said 25k for the 3.5SL, but he was including the college grad rebate, too (doesn't apply). Plus I'm looking to lease, so the $1250 isn't applicable, putting the price at $26750. Granted that's not bad, but I'd like to get it down a bit, or at least get a few freebies :) I'll probably take my chances and assume July deals will be better based on what's (not) happening with consumer spending right now. Anyone know anything about the costco auto program? Worth checking into?
Murano Sun Visor Issue
by onei on Sun Jan 13 10:58:12 PST 2008
Murano Owners, have any of you been having issues with your sun visors? I have a '04 Murano SL with Touring Package & 36k miles. 3yr warranty went off last April, yet I am about to be going through my 3rd sun visor. The visor will not stay up. Hit a bump & they drop. This last one that I have received, just drops about halfway down and stays. Are others having any issues. I stopped at my dealer yesterday and they don't come right out and say it but lead me to believe that this has been a problem with this part. Grant it, in Arizona you need to use the visor and rely on it heavily. It probably does get a little more use than some states, yet I think they should hold up a little better than this. :shades:
Re: Just got Altima 2007 SE 6 MT with Technology PKG & VDC [tropo]
by chirocat on Wed Jul 04 22:00:15 PDT 2007
I assume you had the premium package and VDC at that price, at least the Tech package "requires it", but what about the sport package with the sunroof? And what was the "MSRP" on your ride? I am considering the 3.5 SE Altima Sedan with 6M, with Sport, VDC, Premium and Technology packages but when you add the prices up using the "msrp" or even invoice prices the options are around 10-13K, which is a ridiculous premium to pay over the base model for essentially the same options I can get on the Accord EX-L (which can be bought now for about $25k +TTL). My friend bought a Acura TL last year for $32,800 +TTL and the Altima doesn't quite compare to it, it's just more luxurious. Granted you have to pay $35k + TTL in 07 to get a manual, but the TL-S is even a bigger step up for only 6K(over your price). If I can get all the options for 29k, it's a lot easier to stomach. I have to say I prefer Honda's pricing, with the only real option being the Nav. It's sooo much easier to get a handle on pricing. Anyway, congratulations on your purchase, and I hope you can she some light on my confusion about the option prices. Thanks. :confuse:

Yes, it was a 2007 :) but, it depends a lot on the dealer too. the place I bought mine at (cowles nissan in VA) already had the cars about 1000 below MSRP, and I was able to get them to go a little lower still. I think the one i bought had an MSRP of about 22500, marked down to 19650. with the gap insurance and another charge (freight, i think) it came up to 20800. taxes, tittle, tags, processing fee, warranty, ect, pushed it up to about 23400. 2000 down had me financing 21400. granted, didn't have all the options, but did have the cvt, floormats, splash guards, and all the other standard features of the 2.5 S. However, there were only 3 at the dealership at that price. everything else in the 2.5 was 21k-24k. You just have to shop around and be patient. they get new cars in all the time. I'd use the internet to compare prices and let them compete with each other. I started my purchasing with an e-mail to the sales dept of 3 dealerships. In fact, the only thing i did at the dealership was test drive, and fill out paperwork. also, consider buying out of the area. The farther you live from the dealership, the better the deal you'll get.

I paid $16,500 for my Versa with the Convenience package back in July and loved it. I looked at the Honda Civic, but thought the Versa was a better deal. Regarding the bluetooth phone, which NO Honda car offers at this time (acrua does tho) and Intelli-key were the selling points of the car. Regarding which is better, that is a tough one. Granted the Versa isn't getting the gas mileage that it should, but over all, the Versa is better drving car then the Civic. I bought the Versa because it has almost the same space as a Civic, but had 21 century conveniences in it. All my cars well hae Bluetooth as well as Intelli-key in the future... Tony
