Re: pricing [gresch]

gresch, Sorry to hear about your problem. They did raise the price a little bit saying the quote they gave me included $500 rebate plus $500 college graduate rebate. I told him it was sneaky to do that and he said everyone else does it. I negotiated for a while and ended up paying a bit more than I hoped to get but below my budget, and I wanted a new car (4 miles on odo) in black (no demo, seems like just about everything out there is demo at least in midwest) with 2.9% finance so I grabbed it. Oh, M'Lady also says their cars include floor mats, cargo area protector, and bumper protector. My car came only with floor mats and when I asked Pat about it he said the little piece of aluminum in the cargo area is the bumper protector and didn't even answer the question about cargo protector. I signed everything already so I couldn't ask for the other parts but I did send an e-mail about it but no reply so I guess I am out of luck. From my experience, dealers will always find ways to weasel out of a deal and try to get you into the dealer in person. And, ALL the sales people I met (I mean 100%) had much less knowledge about the cars that they are selling than me. For example, there was an LE in the showroom and as we were walking out to see another one, I told Pat that the LE he mentioned had no moonroof (he said it did in the e-mail). He kept insisting that all LEs come with a moon roof and I said that's not true, it's an option. He swore that he was right. We went back to the showroom and the LE in there DIDN'T have a moon roof. :( He acted all shocked and confused, of course ;) At another dealer, I tried to open the rear hatch using a remote but didn't work so I asked the guy and he said I couldn't open the rear hatch with a remote when there is clearly a button for the hatch. It ended being broken. There is a reason why people rate car buying experience lower than going to see a dentist.

'09 Altima S CVT Frost/Blond

I've been quoted $17,615 over the internet for an Altima 2.5S CVT sedan. This includes floor mats, splash guards, destination, and $1,500 cash. It doesn't include $500 grad. cash. I've confirmed that I get my color choice and it's not a demo. Has anyone done better in MI, OH, or IL?

Ricky, could you please break down the OTD price that you are listing as some fees (document, tag, title) and taxes vary according to locale. I started yesterday and was given $22200 cost (plus document, tax, tag fees) for your option 1 and thought I could do better (in OH). Thanks as it will help us all looking for similar options.
Re: Nissan Versa: Prices Paid & Buying Experience [alamocity]

Okay, I'm going in tonight to talk to one of the two Nissan dealers near me. The car I want is: SL 09 HB w/CVT, ABS, convenience package, and floor mats. MSRP = $18035, Invoice = $17307, and TMV = $17557 I'm eligible for 3 rebates if I finance through Nissan: the $1750 customer cash (don't need to finance through Nissan), the $750 Bonus cash, and the $500 recent grade bonus cash, for a total of $3000 in incentives. I see a lot of you are getting the car for a thousand or two less than invoice after rebates, and fitzmall.com has the same car for $13910 after rebates (the $1750 and $750 ones, doesn't include college grad), so I should be able to get it for around $13410 after all rebates, right? So, my goal should be around $16410 before rebates, taxes, title, tags? That would mean my OTD including all fee and taxes would be around $14600. Does that sound like a good price? Is the dealer likely to agree to something like that? Oh, and regarding the financing, my credit union will refinance the Nissan loan at the new car rate they pre-approved me for, so as long as Nissan doesn't have any sort of pre-payment penalties, or restrictions on how long you need to have the loan in order to get the rebates I plan on financing through Nissan to get the extra $1250 in rebates and then re-finance at my credit union for a lower rate. Has anyone financed through Nissan? Do they have a pre-payment penalty?? Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated!!!
