Re: Closing on my purchase of a 2005 Nissan Murano, SL [thenebean]: by dan bitman on Tue Jul 19 08:21:48 PDT 2005; Recalls are based on volume of customer complains and the safety threat it generates. Apparently there were not enough complains of sebring/stratus owners, to generate a nationwide recall. What can I say? Except for its eye catching style, this CUV , for the money you pay for compare to a sebring/stratus ( 30K+ vs 18K- before discounts), it is comparable with a sebring/stratus, from reliability p.o.v. I am in contact with the Eng. community of Nissan Tech Ctr in Livonia, Mi, ( those dilligent chino-indians :) ) and know for sure that are even discussing plans to build this car in the US ( hybrid?), just to make it more reliable q-ty wise. Because so far it is full of quality issues starting with fit and finish, going through electrical and ending with powertrain. Sounds weird, ha?? When was the last time you heard about a 100% Japs brand being recalled so massively ? Dan
