What price I should get as a good deal on this one. Again please help me understand the price, is it out of door or not. Unless someone specifically says "OTD", I would assume the price of the vehicle they mention does not include tax, title, etc. It appears you are being quoted MSRP for the car. Checking carsdirect.com, it appears you are not getting the convenience package; the floormats are a seperate $150 item. That said, I would maybe try to get a few hundred off the car. Maybe take the tack of trying for $16,500 out-the-door. That way you wouldn't have to worry about getting ripped off; you're still getting a few hundred under MSRP, which is about the most they're going to discount this car for. Then again, if you were fishing for a deal, you'd be better off taking one of the dealer's '06 Sentras off his hands. They may bump you to $17,000 OTD, which is still a good deal. Try to meet him in between at $16,750 first though. A lot of this depends on what your taxes are.
No, we got the $8475 off of MSRP straight up. This included the rebate though. MSRP 28,075K less 3,000K rebate discount 5,475K off Price pd 19,600K I hope I did my math right here. We DID have a trade. It was a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 98K miles. It had a broken A/c and an oil leak. We got $2500 on the trade(which made the price $17,100). In looking up the trade in value on line for our Jeep in Fair condition the trade in value was $3,475. Not sure if ours was even in fair condition. So if you wanted to factor that in we ate about $1,000K on the trade - but I do not think it was even in fair condition. I just had a friend go to the same dealership yesterday and they like the 06 quest as well. They are not as willing to discount it with them as they were with us. I think I had it in my original post that we went on Memorial day 30 mins before close, and they said they needed a 20th sale. usually I would think this was a crock..but I think it was true this time. I had a small disagrement with some mis-information I got when asking the differecne between an Sl and an S Spec Ed and I called to complain, they said (which is RARE) that they do not want anyone unhappy and that they could NOT discount it any further and that I could return the car. I called another quest dealer and gave them the vin# and asked if they could beat the price and they said NO, they do not even know why they did that deal and that it was an $1,800 loss. Coincidentally the dealer where I purchased it said it was an $1,800 loss too. I believe the rebate is till $3k so IMO I do not think you would be getting it for $10K under. But who knows. It is true it has a lower resale than the sienna and odyssey, but if you plan to keep it LT (we do) I do not know how much that would factor in. I personally am Happy with the vehicle. the instrumentation panel is funky at first but it is totally normal to me now. It is all a matter of what you are used to I suppose. I like the styling which is a little different that the typical van. It is roomy. For me the several thousand discount from the Honda and Toyota made it a sale. We only have 800 miles, so I am hoping there is a true break in period..but our AVG MPG is at 15.6. That is probably a 70/30 split (more city). I am hoping for some improvement. a friend has the 06 SL Quest and has 17.9 avg. Another nice feature is that the S SE has the Rear sonar as a standard feature. A BIG bonus for me as this is my first van. Good Luck. Mary
Hmm, in a similar boat, it's looking like I can luck into a 2001 GLE with low miles for around 10K. Any advantage to paying more for a 2002? any problems with 2001 models? The '02 is quite a bit faster, but an '01 is a fine vehicle as well. If you get a chance to drive it, check the driver's door jamb and make sure it was made in late '00 or '01.
I'm currently looking at the 1998 - 2002 Model as I like the looks and seems to be generally a well recommended car. Should I be concerned about mileage for these models? Stay away from the 2000 model - it was a first year, and as such has a bunch of problems. The '98 and '99 are nice, but pretty different than the '00-'03. They're smaller cars. The '02 and '03 are the ones to get. They have the 3.5L V6 as opposed to the 3.0L, and are very fast. The '03 was an "orphan" year (only 8 months' worth were made) because the '04 came out in 03/03.
Just purchased an '04 350Z Touring Roadster. Silverstone w/ventilated burnt orange seats, 18" wheels, every option including navigation. MSRP was $41,560. Dealer was asking 5 grand over sticker (46k)! After much haggling, got the car for invoice $38,234 at a low 2.0% finance rate thru Nissan. I did my homework and didn't let them take advantage of me...I think. They may have got me on the Nissan extended warranty. They "lowered" the cost of the 6yr/100k mi Gold preferred warranty to $1,700. Did I get robbed? Did anybody else go for the extended warranty? If so, how much?
