Unless someone specifically says "OTD", I would assume the price of the vehicle they mention does not include tax, title, etc. It appears you are being quoted MSRP for the car. Checking carsdirect.com, it appears you are not getting the convenience package; the floormats are a seperate $150 item. That said, I would maybe try to get a few hundred off the car. Maybe take the tack of trying for $16,500 out-the-door. That way you wouldn't have to worry about getting ripped off; you're still getting a few hundred under MSRP, which is about the most they're going to discount this car for. Then again, if you were fishing for a deal, you'd be better off taking one of the dealer's '06 Sentras off his hands. They may bump you to $17,000 OTD, which is still a good deal. Try to meet him in between at $16,750 first though. A lot of this depends on what your taxes are.

Any advantage to paying more for a 2002? any problems with 2001 models? The '02 is quite a bit faster, but an '01 is a fine vehicle as well. If you get a chance to drive it, check the driver's door jamb and make sure it was made in late '00 or '01.

Should I be concerned about mileage for these models? Stay away from the 2000 model - it was a first year, and as such has a bunch of problems. The '98 and '99 are nice, but pretty different than the '00-'03. They're smaller cars. The '02 and '03 are the ones to get. They have the 3.5L V6 as opposed to the 3.0L, and are very fast. The '03 was an "orphan" year (only 8 months' worth were made) because the '04 came out in 03/03.

Dealer says they don't/won't deal any more than that. Live in Grand Rapids, MI area. Comments?

Low prices on Quests: by kmead on Mon Sep 01 12:07:37 PDT 2003; Well the Quest has been out a while and supplies are tight. Doesn't seem to affect the pricing though, as my local Nissan dealer has discounted the only Quest they have which is a top of the line SE with DVD, NAV, Seating and so on. List 37140 Sale 34940 And thats before going in and haggling. Guess its not a runaway success, which is kind of sad given the overall quality of the vehicle. Maybe if it does well in the Consumer Reports testing it will boost sales, that and the IIHS testing which I suspect will be coming out in sweeps month. The dealer is in Grand Rapids, MI.
