Re: Lease/ Good deal or Bad? [Car_man]

We plan a 36-mos, no money down lease of a 2007 Nissan Altima. We live in MA. We have a choice of a CT or a MA dealership both within close proximity. The invoice price of exactly what we want is $20,783/MSRP is $22,275. That includes the destination charge of $625. What do we need to know for a good lease? One dealership is talking a 'sale' and the other isn't, so I'm leery of being horn-swaggled. Any advice? Do you pay sales tax on a lease? Or excise tax? If you are not buying the car, just leasing, shouldn't both of these taxes not apply? We are actually heading out for the test drives shortly. We have compared electronically and visually against the Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys. Today should be fun!

I have been watching this thread and I'm about to turn in my Altima lease and would consider another one for the right price. I just can't see why anyone would pay so much for an Altima. I am look at Accord leases (nicely equipped leather, sunroof, V6, etc) for under $300 per month sign and drive ($0 at lease) and including 5% sales tax in MA, 12k per year for 36 mo.
Re: Thoughts & good price point for 2007 Altima 2.5 S with 2.5 SL Package [
by navigator319 on Thu Dec 28 19:11:09 PST 2006
Just leased an 2.5S with SL package in Marlboro, MA. It was Dark Slate outside, black inside and fog lights. I was trading in a 2001 altima with 85k on it,that had been stolen and repaired with with 9k in damage. I got trade in value of over $5500 and $500 recent collage grad rebate. I walked out of the dealership paying nothing, everything including 1st month payment and all taxes and fees taken care of. The terms were 12k miles a year, 42 months for $299.62. While doing the paperwork with the finance guy I extend the warranty from the 36k/36 months to the full 42 months and added roadside assistance and free towing to a Nissan dealership, along with 100% free rental car when I am without my car for an extra $3.47 a month. I don't have AAA, so I though why not and in the past 4 years I have had to pay for a tow truck 3x. This car is SICK, it is by far the best car for the money even when you just stay at the base 2.5S trim level. Toyota Camry and Honda Accord don't hold a candle to this. I think I got a good deal, I hope I did, but I don't care right now as am so pumped I got this amazing car. What do you think of my deal? Did I do good or maybe I could have done a little better?
Too good to be true???
by clavinrdz on Tue Nov 04 15:03:15 PST 2003
I have big doubts about a 2004 Quest SL I just got a quote on. For the SL w/upgrade, seat & microcabin filter, the dealer is asking 25,052 plus $298 doc. fee (plus title, taxes are not included, but I'm a NH resident, so I don't pay sales taxes). According to Edmunds, the invoice price should be $26K. My question is: Could there be something wrong with the van? Or the dealer? Isn't this deal too good to be true? Just wondering, but I'm picking it up on Saturday.
