Great Deal On My 2008 Rogue SL AWD
by renogeorge on Thu May 08 19:16:10 PDT 2008
I got a great deal last Friday on my 2008 SL AWD Rogue, with moonroof, floor mats, and more at Pohanka Nissan in Fredericksburg, VA. . I dealt with them by email first and after getting the figures went there from Maryland (thru AAA Buying Service which recommended Pohanka) and the deal and figures were exactly the same as in the email. They were very nice, professional and did everything they could to make me happy. What a great place to deal with and what a great car. I love my Rogue. They also gave me the most $ for my trade in. I tried all of the Nissan dealers in the Baltimore, MD and Hanover, Pa area, but this dealer was the best. I have 400 miles on it so far and I just filled up the gas tank and I computed 25 mpg.

sure sounds like a long way to come - airfare + the gas to drive 1800 miles would mean a lot of bucks difference not to mention the time. To answer your question try Baker Jackson Nissan in Houston - you should be able to contact their website and their internet sales dept. directly as well as view inventory and so forth.

i agree that the NAH is a perfect balance between fuel efficiency and sportiness. If you don't car much about sportiness, the TCH is a better choice. In the end its all about driving habits and personal taste. A quick comparison; the best price I have seen for a new NAH Base is $24,000 OTD and if you factor in the $2350 rebate, the price becomes $21,650. Comparing that to a regular gas engine altima 2.5S automatic, the lowest price I have seen is $19,300 OTD. There is about a $2350 difference in price. With gas @ $4.00/gallon you save about $45.71 per 1,000 miles if you get 25MPG overall with the gas engine and 35MPG overall with the NAH. You will recoup the $2350 after 50,000 miles. After 50,000 the differenc will be made up. Thats if gas is $4.00/gallon.
Re: Advice needed on purchasing a demo [nhonickman]

Thanks for the response, nhonickman. Yeah, I think we've decided that unless we can get the actual USED bb value for the '07 then a new '08 w/ rebate is the way to go. However, what kind of gas mileage are you getting? What was the expectation?

here is my 2 cents...we own 07 SE with DVD entertainment, no NAV..nice van, but gas mileage sucks In this economy, the demo is used in my mind...and no title is not worth $5K....you need to find out out what a low mile 2007 Quest SE goes at auction, then you know the bottom price..I would offer $30K and see what they say....

All that makes sense, but really my main issue is that 90% of my driving is 30 mph and under and my Infiniti G35x has been getting about 15mpg on those circumstances. Even only driving 750 miles/month, it equates to about $1000 year in gas savings at 33mpg. I'm not going to quibble about the difference between 33 and 36 mpg, and with the tax credits available on the Altima, it is tempting. Problem is, I've got to go drive 6 hours to California to go test drive the thing and then I've got to worry about paying CA Sales tax (in Oregon there is no sales tax). You said "the engine is more in sync with the system then the TCH." The context of your message would indicate that the engine would be more in sync in the TCH than the NAH (e.g. Toyota with Toyota rather than Nissan with Toyota).
