I have purchased twice from Toyota North using on-line exchanges. First time was 2004 and second time was this year (2012). In both instances I asked for quotes from approximately 5 other dealers, as well as Toyota North and the key was to know the options and model you want before you send your email. This way, they know exactly what you are after and you receive quotes that are meaningful when comparison shopping. I worked with the same salesperson at Toyota North both times (which says something; he is in sales as a career and not just "passing through" so he has a reputation to maintain). Both times they were crisp in their pricing, and both times I did not meet them until the day I purchased. The first time I negotiated the price of the new car on-line, then after that was done, I negotiated the price of my trade in in person so they could see it (which I also researched and was realistic that it was an older car -- and they gave me a fair trade-in value and they immediately sold the car to a wholesaler). The second time, I had no trade in, so just negotiated the price of the new car. Both times the price was well within the price points suggested on Edmunds. No b.s., used straight-forward language, and accommodated my request to add an OEM item before delivery. They offered the additional warranty (which I declined) but it wasn't a high pressure situation. (A few years ago, I actually bought a warranty for a VW that ultimately saved me thousands - so I'm not advocating against warranties...just didn't do it this time.) For whatever it's worth for women who may be reading this review, I'm a female, and have never felt uncomfortable or "talked down to" at this dealership (I walk out of those places!). In both purchases, I took delivery by myself without my husband and they were more than happy to answer questions and negotiate with me. These folks seem to be long-term employees who have families too. Good luck and happy car shopping....hope this info helps.
