Re: 2008 Mitsu Outlander XLS 2WD [avalanchez66]

Thanks for that.. Dealer found a car today, and called with the actual Invoice of the car.. After all was said and done, the number he gave us was $26,649. This is for the 08 Outlander XLS FWD, with Luxery and S&S, and DVD installed. My wife decided to throw out a crazy number, and see what happened.. We offered $25,200 for the car.. He said that was a crazy number to work with, and then told us that the bottom line, drop-dead minimum he could go was $25,600. We took that deal.. Ended up paying $28,000 for the car, with Tax, Title, and Tags.. Considering that invoice on the car with options is around $27,000, I think we made out pretty well! Thanks for the tips... By the way, if anyone in Central Jersey is looking for a Mitsubishi, All-Star Mitsubishi in South Amboy is the way to go. They are great people, and really worked with us.. No pressure, no stupid "You're taking food out of my kids mouths" BS. They just wanted to sell a car. And that they did!
2008 Mitsu Outlander XLS 2WD

Okay, been to a few dealers, and finally found a dealer that was cooperative, and nice. Really got a good feeling from these people... Anyway, we're looking at a black 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS, 2WD. Invoice is $22,389. We want the Luxury Package (Invoice 1400), so need to take the Sun and Sound Package (1409) with it. Finally, we're looking for a DVD Rear-Seat Entertainment. It seems as if that isn't really out there, so he said he'd install an after-market player and screen at $875. We weren't ready to completely purchase yet, will be ready by Friday. Initial offer the manager gave us before we left was $500 under invoice, as well as an offer to pay our Disposition Fee on our current BMW lease that we're handing in ($350). I live in Central NJ by the way. How does this deal sound? I have been researching and it seems like a very good deal, however I'm a little weary about taking a first offer, without asking for anything additional... Should I ask for more off? At the very least, ask for a Remote Starter to be thrown in? Thanks all in advance.

Great Job and Patience getting that price on your Outlander. You will love this SUV. I paid $28,300.00 for the same package here in Central California. I already have 16K miles on mine and I am still loving it.... Welcome to the Outlander family.
What Discounts?

Here in western NY state...Rochester, Buffalo region...no indications of significant discounting. Those claiming to get $700 or $1200. UNDER invoice have had smoke blown at them. Why? Because they had a TRADE-IN involved! A shell game can be played when your trade gets involved in the negotiation. The $500. owners or college rebate is a stand-alone issue and is straightforward to me. Anyone aware of any dealer in western/central NY with serious discounting without a trade in, please contact me! The same also for any dealers in South Florida, Palm Beach County and Broward county too!

Yeah.. I thought that was probably what you were talking about, sounds like the salesman was pretty honest too. My sister has only had her eclipse GT (her 4th Mitsubishi) for a short time but has already made 2 trips to Florida from central Illinois. She has a kind of gonzo driving habit in that she drives straight through with an always full mug of juice or coffee. She says she likes to hear the throb of the 3.8, makes her feel safe. If she needs a change she just cranks the radio up a bit. Incidentally, she has checked her mileage out pretty good & claims better MPG when using premium. She says she averages 75-80 on the interstate & gets about 27 MPG. Much better than her previous Diamante.
