$1500 under invoice?
by tuskenrayder on Wed Mar 26 02:22:41 PDT 2008
Those of you claiming offers of $1500 under invoice on a 2008 XLS must be getting it taken on the back-end with your trade-ins or financing. I've pretty much determined that I'm the only one shopping for an Outlander in my region since all 20 something of the dealerships I've contacted have not moved any inventory since I started looking 4 weeks ago. The best deal I've been offered is $1200 under invoice with the $1500 rebate from Mitsubishi and I'm a little skeptical of this offer since there is no $1500 rebate on 2008 Outlanders. Other than this pretend offer, all others are offering between invoice and $300 over, and not budging. I guess that's why I have yet to see a single Outlander on the road. With all the incentives being offered by other manufacturers, I'm about ready to walk away from these overpriced wagons.
What Discounts?
by ike3 on Thu May 17 08:46:43 PDT 2007
Here in western NY state...Rochester, Buffalo region...no indications of significant discounting. Those claiming to get $700 or $1200. UNDER invoice have had smoke blown at them. Why? Because they had a TRADE-IN involved! A shell game can be played when your trade gets involved in the negotiation. The $500. owners or college rebate is a stand-alone issue and is straightforward to me. Anyone aware of any dealer in western/central NY with serious discounting without a trade in, please contact me! The same also for any dealers in South Florida, Palm Beach County and Broward county too!

Well, here in NW IN, we are under severe schedule, so first oil change is due at 3000, then every 3000 mi after that. I'm looking forward to the first oil change, and see how it impacts the mileage after. Maintenance schedule for the US Outlander here (probably same recommendations in CA): http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/owners/service.do

But we don't have a Ralliart store here, so we lack all the goodies to dress up our Outlanders. And I wish there is a WRC round here in the US too. I'm dying to see a real WRC rally live. I guess there are plus and minuses to both sides. Pricing is very much a market thing. US is a tough market to break, and you need good pricing here or else you won't sell your product. And in that respect, I think Mitsu hit the sweet spot. My Outlander may not be as advanced as a BMW or a Lexus, but it's got a ton of high tech features for a lot less money. And handling is superb. I really love this SUV. I am so happy that I waited. Got a mix of slush, rain, snow today here in NW IN, and I love every mile I drove. Always squeezing through the maximum of the speed limit (+10mph). :P

I did. One time, I was trailing a tractor trailer, and some weird smell started coming in from the outside air through the A/C, so I tried to close the vent and recirculate the air, but I can't. The recirculate button just won't light up. I look it up in the manual, and it turns out, in an auto climate A/C system, you can't recirculate the air if the blower is set to defog the windshield (which was the blower setting at that time). Which actually made sense since recirculating the air will create more fog. This is another "smart" function of the car. May not be true for manual A/C. Most of the other advanced features of the vehicle can be adjusted through the navi screen, if so equipped. Another thing I'd like to mention is the luxury package. I thought I never needed it (Leather seats, powered and heated and HID lamps) but after having it for just a week, I really loved it, and I think it was a worthy option to include. The HID lights offers better illumination, a plus feature I found very useful during the last storm that hit the IL/IN area The Outlander interior insulates well. The leather seats that I thought would be very cold after being parked overnight in a roofed garage (no walls) was actually not that cold. It was cold but tolerable, and when the air heater kicks in, the seat heating can be optional. This is in comparison to my GF's 03 CR-V, parked in the same garage, where the bottled water left in the car turned into ice.
MITSU OWNER
by muerte20 on Tue Jan 06 07:03:59 PST 2004
I MUST SAY I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY '02 MITSU. I HAVE A DIAMANTE VRX IT'S NICE LEATHER INSIDE AND HAS WAY MORE THAN AMPLE PICK-UP! THERE WERE SOME ROTOR ISSUES IN THE WEARING IN STAGE. THE PANELS ARE GREAT WHITE FACED WITH RED LIGHT, VERY FORGIVING ON EYES FOR LONG DRIVES. THE CAR RIDES A LITTLE TO SMOOTH THOUGH 80 FEELS LIKE THE SAME AS 65. COMPLAINT... MY PAYMENTS..FOR THE CAR NOT BAD FOR MY WALLET HORRIBLE.
