I currently own 2 older Toyotas. Per the common wisdom on this make of car, I have followed the guidelines of having the oil changed regularly, so I visit Service a lot. I have found Mr. Madison, currently the Service Dept. Manager, to be consistently sympathetic and straightforward in all of my dealings with him. I'm not a mechanic in the least, so I really need to work with someone I believe has proved trustworthy. I feel he has been honest about when I really need to have something done, and when it could be done more inexpensively elsewhere. Since it is a Toyota dealership and they already have most parts in stock, I can wait in the (fairly comfortable) waiting room on the majority of jobs and leave within a reasonable time. Because of this, I will usually go there for convenience, even on occasions when I believe they could be higher in cost than a 3rd party garage. When I have minor problems with a malfunction of some part of the car like the folding seats, or turning off a blinking erroneous sensor, I can always go in and Mr. Madison or a mechanic will fix it right away, for free. I did not buy my main car there, either. There are at least 1 or 2 other local garages I personally believe are honest, based on my and my friends' experiences, but they usually don't have the Toyota parts. They usually buy them from Vicksburg Toyota! Waiting for this runaround means more loss of vehicle/work time for me. Also, I have also found that honest and competent are not always synonymous, but I've had no problem with Vicksburg Toyota as of yet.
