I've run into a recent problem with this store in trying to buy a new car. I'm looking for a 2012 Mustang GT automatic, which this store's web site, for the past 6 weeks, says they have on their lot. But they don't have it, based on my visits there. I've pointed this out to them, but they haven't changed their web site enticement to correct the fact that they don't have the car on their lot that they say they have. Have you ever wanted to visit a store to see a car they say is in their inventory--I have, but I've been fooled 4 times in the past 6 weeks as they don't actually have in stock what they say they have. It's not a "we sold it yesterday and haven't yet updated our web site" situation. I've pointed out the issue to them various times and they haven't fixed it. Thus, it makes it tough for me to deal with them about buying the car they say on the web they have when they don't have it. Problems with their service department haven't helped. Ah, just give me a store to trust more.
Original Review - I've bought 4 new cars from Campbell in the past 7 years. No tricks in the closing or financing process, other than once I had to finance $10k instead of all cash to get the promised rebate on one purchase in 2004. Price quotes are generally reasonable but you have to work them like anyone else, because otherwise you are leaving maybe $3-$4k on the table. Service dept was very bad in the past (04-09), but it seems to be much much better now (2010-11). I'm trying now on another purchase and going through the pricing game on the new car and the trade. They do have a new sales manager here in summer of 2011, so the cars aren't packed with $3k of needless options (spoiler, stripes, remote start, etc., at high prices) any more. In short, I'm shopping here again as they are an OK place to deal with, I've never seen anything underhanded on the 8 purchases I've tried to make (4 worked, 3 didn't due to the price and poor prior service experience, 8th now under way). I'm an accountant so I understand all the number stuff that goes on, how a business has to be run, and this place handles things OK now or else I'd stay widely away. I have no financial interest in making this review nor any "ties" to this store.
