Seelye Wright Kia
I was very pleased with the staff at Seelye Wright Kia of Kalamazoo when I purchased a car there in 2004. I had never purchased a car off a lot before. I always purchased "junker" cars from the newspaper for a couple thousand dollars, and after a couple years they always died.
My latest "junker" had just died, and I desperately needed reliable transportation to my job that was a 70 mile round trip every day. I was only 3 years out of bankruptcy and currently working as a temporary employee at a factory. I assumed that any dealership would just laugh in my face when I asked them to finance me, but I really didn't want to buy another junk car.
I chose the Kia dealership because Rios were one of the least expensive cars on the market at the time. To my utmost surprise, the staff treated me with warm respect. I test drove a 2004 Rio, which I ended up not caring for at all. No power whatsoever. The sales staff contacted Don Seeyle Ford a few miles away and located a 2002 Ford Focus. I fell in love with it during my test drive.
They searched all afternoon to secure decent financing for me. I was thrilled when they told me my monthly payments would actually be LESS than what I had requested. My only beef with the dealership is that they included $1000 gap insurance into the final quote, which I did not request. I had already been at the dealership for 5 hours at this point, and my monthly payments were still lower than I expected, so I just signed the papers to get it done.
It turned out to be a very long day with all the paperwork, etc., but I drove my "new" car off the lot that same day feeling exhausted, but happy in knowing I got a good deal and was treated well. I have not had any major problems with my car--just routine repairs.
I'm so grateful for the staff at Seelye Wright Kia for going the extra mile for me. I didn't end up buying a Kia, but you've definitely gained my customer loyalty.
