Almost there!

by supersize1 on 04/12/2011

I just wanted to update my review as I promised I would. Communication has improved! Joe was able to get some actual information regarding the paint choice we had allocated and that it was in limited production. We worked with him to allocate a second choice of color, while still retaining a great deal. Hindsight is a interesting thing! I would happily buy from Randy Wise. For the entire time, this is the one dealership that has not played the haggle game with us, and that to me is worth putting the 5 stars. We are driving 200+ miles one way for our purchase. I'm a fan of this dealership. I'm still not sold on some of Hyundai's allocation / order system or it's lack of keeping buyers appraised of the line to completion.

Disappointing Visit

by newcar09 on 06/01/2009

I called and spoke to the Sales Manager and told him I was looking for a new 2009 Mercury Milan. He told me to come to the dealership that day because he could help me out. I was very excited and went to the dealership after work. When I got there, the Sales Manager told me he had no 2009 Milan's on the lot but insisted I look at other vehicles. He then turned me over to a rookie Salesperson and it made me feel that I was not worth his time. The Salesperson had poor sales' skills. He was showing me vehicles that were not in my budget and ones I said I was clearly not interested in. I decided to drive a 2010 Milan while I was there. The Salesperson drove with me (which I did not like). I felt I was being watched since he didn't bother to explain the vehicle or try to sell it at all. Instead, he started telling me personal things that had nothing to do with why I was there. When I returned from the test drive, the Sales Manager was able to locate a 2008 Milan which was a plus. Although I was pre-approved by my Credit Union and told them I would get financed thru the Credit Union, they insisted on taking my information for a finance application. They left a msg the next day to call. I returned the call and they never called me back so I don't know if the vehicle came in or not. I was ready to purchase it and I feel I was just left hanging. It was a very disappointing experience. The Sales staff leaves a lot to be desired. I rather drive 50+ miles to the next dealership to test drive and possibly buy a new car.

I am not happy with the dealership

by kmaunder on 07/10/2008

My wife and I knew what car we wanted and with what options. We had our own financing through the local credit union also. They didn't have the hatchback, but we test drove the car on the lot in sedan version. We told them we would purchase the car in stock with cruise control added on. For some reason, the dealership spent over three hours attempting to get us the paper work. We showed up at four in the afternoon and were there until closing at eight. We asked if we could finish the deal tomorrow because it was getting so late, but they said we would lose our rebate price if we left. I had to tell them five times to correct the paperwork to show I wanted cruise added on to the car. I had to tell them three times that I had my own financing and did not want to go through theirs. I asked if they were using Hyundai parts to add cruise control to the vehicle. They assured me it was Hyundai parts with work performed at the dealership. Instead I found out they took the car to SpecMo Enterprises. The reason I found this out is that the dealer quoted me 299.00 for the cruise add-on, but they said that SpecMo charged more and the dealership demanded I pay the difference. I refused to pay more than the quoted price and began to feel that they had been dishonest from the beginning. Although we paid sticker price, we had a 1500.00 factory rebate and the Sales Manager also offered a 500.00 gas card to us to sweeten the deal. My wife did not want to leave without the card, but they assured us they mail it to customers. We have had the car for almost two weeks now, but no gas card... We had to pick up the car the next day, and at first no one could find the car, then the extra keys came up missing. Another hour wasted. The sales person apparently had no clue about Hyundai's. She could not help us get the baby seat buckled in properly, adjust the clock/stereo radio controls, and she didn't know where the cup holders or seat adjustments were located. I had to ask her when scheduled maintenance would be due for the car. Overall, I feel like the sales staff could care less about us and just wanted to do or say anything to complete a sale.

Great Dealership

by cobrazera on 07/21/2007

The buying experience at Genesee Valley Auto Mall is great. The sales staff is knowledgeable of their product, low pressure ( and that includes the finance/warranty/extras person ), and good selection. We walked into the dealership with 3 cars in mind, took road tests ( without the salesman ) in all 3 and chose an Azera. The tradein allowance was decent, and within 2 hours total, we were on our way. We could not be happier.
