Pros:
Quick responses
Cons:
Would not provide real pricing via internet, only ranges. Wanted to do everything face to face.

After a negative experience with the sales person at Troy, I still wanted to consider getting another Mazda vehicle, so I tried the online experience with Suburban Mazda Farmington Hills.  All in all, not satisfied at all with the internet side, all they wanted was to get you in the door.  I expect to be able to complete a car sale completely over the internet and sign paper at delivery, this was not an option with Suburban Mazda Farmington Hills, or the Suburban Collection from this experience.

I completed the email form on Mazdausa.com and was immediately sent form emails from Lisa Soulliere, the internet sales specialist.  Within a day I had personal emails and was having my questions answered.  However, I was looking for quotes on the Mazda 6 and 3 and would only get one at a time.  After repeatedly asking for quotes on the 6 via email I received them in addition to the quote on the 3.  The quotes were ranges, and tax was always additional, but this was not noted.  I asked if tax was included and then was told no, that's extra.  I asked why the range and the answer was it depends on credit.  I informed that I currently have a Mazda lease so to contact Mazda credit and find out what the exact payment would be.  She then told me to come in for the first time.

I was very clear that I wanted a sunroof *factory installed* not aftermarket.  Lisa proceeded to tell me that it was an $800 option, which is not true according to Mazda's website, and as I receive S-Plan pricing, this is farther from true.  She also said that this would raise the lease payment $40 a month.  On a 24 month lease, that's 960, and while I understand there is interest, the last time I looked at the blue book, a power sunroof increased the residual, so I should not be paying for the whole thing.

I ended up calling Lisa to discuss options of turning my current lease in early and getting a firm payment quote.  At this point she kept telling me I had to get in there and talk to a sales associate.

I thought I was talking to a sales associate.  She really wanted me to test drive the car.  I informed her that I already had a Mazda 6 - I know what the car is like, I am just looking for a new one.  She proceeded to keep telling me I needed to come into the dealer, test drive it and there I could work out my exact payment and terms.  I told her I wanted an exact payment from the internet sales person and she said she could not provide that, there are too many factors and they prefer to do it face to face.

I have wrote a review for Suburban Mazda in Troy, see that for the face to face experience.

The end result is that I expect internet sales to provide me with the exact numbers and be able to coordinate everything online.  I then only go to the dealer to take delivery.  Suburban Mazda of Farmington would not do this.  They lost my sale completely, as it went to Honda Bloomfield, where everything is being completed via the internet.

  3. I just posted a review because I had the same experience.  I made the mistake of getting my vehicle from there and expressed my disappointment after finding out that I was not given the same deal that I could have had I gotten from another Mazda dealership.  I then gave them an opportunity to make up for it by installing a remote car starter and they wanted to charge me $110 more than the list price.
