2009 Mazda Tribute i Touring purchace price
by starlifter248 on Sun May 03 19:19:15 PDT 2009
Just bought an 09 Tribute i Touring (30 Apr 09). The "out the door" price was $19,917.40. I have 7% sales tax plus $21 for title and Georgia lemon law which made the before tax and after rebate price $18,398.50 The vechicle MSRP is $22,935 & Invoice $21,473 I feel I got an OK deal however, I sure there were better ones out there. My wifes car was wrecked two weeks prior and it appears we will be dealing with the insurance company ( on-going dissagreement) for sometime so I "pulled the trigger" on the purchase, The good news is we got the color and model we wanted and currently are pleased with the vechicle.
Re: Should I buy a used 2004 Quest? [JasonW]
by deltheking on Wed Feb 25 14:34:59 PST 2009
My sincere non biased opinion-- I am both a New `07 Honda Odyssey owner and a used `04 quest owner- I sold the Odyssey with barely 800 miles and I got the `04 Quest for a very good deal[ in a color i like-Gray] after trading in my Ford SUV. Frankly, I bought the Quest b`cos I got a great deal.If I could get the Sienna for that price I would have bought it. If reliability is a factor -- hands down the Sienna.I had the Sienna for a day from Toyota dealer for 1 day.Toyota has rent a car program-- pay about 100 and rent a sienna for 1 day. The Sienna is the most reliable van- it is extremely quiet, great smooth ride and the loaded versions are luxurious.A used one will be a bargain. The Odyssey rides very rough, and the road and wind noises are horrible. And relative to the Sienna it rattles a lot more.At first the steering wheel feels taut and sporty,,but drive it everyday and it hurts.A first test drive with Odyssey is great-- where I made my mistake- but u drive it regularly,it becomes a real chore-- feeling every bump, extremely noisy- it can get very tiring.Drive it on a coarse pavement and it is really terrible. The main purpose of a minivan is practicality, comfort and ride,,not sporty handling or rough ride or road noise. This is where the Odysseys fails miserably. And , a used Odyssey is more costly than Sienna. The Quest is the 3rd choice without any doubt.Unless u are getting a great deal, stick with the Sienna.I have had my used `04 Quest-SL for about 10 days now .It is just OK- minor rattles etc.I hope the reliability keeps up.Plus its tires are expensive. But if u want a very reliable ,safe, affordable ,great comfortable ride plus extra features-- Go with the Sienna. You just can`t go wrong. And as u have indicated- as reliability is a very big factor for u- Your best option is Sienna.Hassle free minivan. Hope this helps--my personal opinion.
Re: Mariner Test Drive...Disappointed! [daryll44]
by jfritsch on Tue May 22 09:27:04 PDT 2007
I checked out the 08 escape and if the Mariner is similar, see what you mean. The cheapness of the interior, etc is a step backward from the 07. If however it sells 6000-7000 off MSRP, (not uncommon for the 07s) it holds its value OK and is competitive with the CRV. I'm disappointed too. --jjf We were all excited to potentially lease a 2008 Mariner Premier. Then we drove it! Here are my issues: 1. Went back to DRUM brakes on the rear to save money. Who has drum brakes any more? 2. Noisy as heck. 3. No handles to hold onto while driving or getting in/out. 4. The "carpet" was some cheap composite fiber stuff. There is no comparision to Honda CRV which did everything better, gets better mpg, and holds it's value MUCH better. I've always been a Ford guy but I can see why Ford is in the trouble that they are in.
2007 or 2008?
by pegasus17 on Sun Feb 11 17:01:25 PST 2007
OK, this month you can get about $6000 off MSRP with the combo of incentives on the 500/Montego. Or you can wait til summer and pay approx. sticker for a 2008. What am i losing out on by buying now? I know about the engine but what about the tranny and the AWD. Is giving up the CVT and the Haldex AWD for the new unproven 3.5 a good tradeoff? Just wondering...
To give all an idea whats available
by tjshan on Fri Jul 07 21:13:53 PDT 2006
Sorry I was not able to post this earlier, but we did end up finding just the right Quest for us, then took it on a 3000 mile romp. We live in upstate NY, near Rochester, but were unable to find any local dealers willing to deal much as inventories were very low. So while visiting family in Maryland, we began calling around and found a dealer in Preston, MD that groaned but met my price. Here is the deal. 2006 Quest 3.5 SL with Special Edition package, floor mats, micro filter, roof cross bars, extra winter rubber mats Out the door for $23,000. No trade, no financing. I think it was a pretty good deal, he had to trade for one in the right color (red) and he even offered to deliver it to NY, but my wife was so excited she wanted to drive it home. The only things we are still waiting on are: The headphones were not in the vehicle, the dealer says the other dealer must have kept them and he is trying to recoup them... I am not sure if they came with the car if we did not get the DVD, but I am going to let him try. Anyone know for sure? Also, the catalog states the 3.5SL has heated seats (shown in the options matrix) but they are not on the vehicle...The dealer is supposed to be trying to contact his rep to find a solution. Does anyone out there have heated seats with the cloth interior? So far, 3500 miles and we are pretty happy. great room, versatility (we are coming out of a 1998 Villager/Quest), new car feel. The multitude of dash controls are tricky, especially when you are trying to get used to them at 70MPH, but that is what a co-pilot is for. One question for ya'all, we are at our first oil change. I have always done my own, but with a NEW car, I am not so sure it is advisable for the warranty. Any thoughts? Would a jiffy lube type of thing be OK? I shudder at the thought of a $100 dealer oil change, especially when I did not buy it there. If anyone has any insight into either of these option issues or the maintenece thing I would be greatfull.
Re: Looking to buy a Quest in Oklahoma... [tmyer]

Though I don't live in OK. I just want to say that you should thouroughly research your vehicle before spending your money. If you've settled on the Quest, nothing I say will change it, but a warning: We bought a 2006 fully loaded QUEST SE.A week after we got it home it started leaking and had to be taken in. The dealership had not told me that there was an outstanding Service Bulletin for leaks from the highly touted Skyview windows. Had we known we would have asked them to test for leaks before paying. We bought this car because we wanted to replace our old voyager because of leaks which led to mold and mildew probs. We have an asthamatic child and can't have that. Once they fixed the first leak they found another from the tail light assembly. The carpet got wet twice and the headliner twice. When we asked that they replace both with new ones, we were informed that Nissan won't cover this if there is no problem. This from a fully covered vehicle, with only 600 miles on it. 400 of those are from my trips for repairs to the dealer who is 80 miles away. Just got a call this morning to say they will replace the headliner but won't have one in for another week. The dealer has had our Quest longer( 1 month) than we have in our 1.5 months of "ownership". I had researched both Honda and Toyota and they don't have nearly the number of problems the Quest has, but we had had such good luck with our Maxima that we went with the Quest thinking they would have dealt with most of the problems 2 years after introducing a new model. Rotten egg smells, leaking skyview, leaking sunroof, airflow malfunctions, fuel pump failures and a multitude of other problems still plague the new year models. When 4 of Nissans 6 (Titan,Armada,Quest and Infinit QX56) new models are on the least reliable list, it gives you pause about the new purchase. SO BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
